Jake Paul’s Calabasas mansion was raided by the FBI early on Wednesday, August 5, in connection to charges against the YouTube star, which relate to criminal behavior that took place at Scottsdale Fashion Square back on May 30. Jake Paul is no stranger to trouble... the YouTuber has had multiple run-ins with police... and been called out by fans and critics for throwing a slew of mega-parties at his Calabasas home. He's reportedly ignoring social distancing orders in California (which happens to be the state that’s been hit hardest by Covid-19). Jake Paul's antics have garnered attention from all over the world, and even from the mayor of Calabasas, Alicia Weintraub. She condemned Paul’s disregard for the safety of others.

Over the past few weeks, Paul’s name has been buzzing around social and media outlets, due to his socializing, along with the events in Scottsdale Fashion Square, which led to Paul being charged with criminal trespassing during a protest for George Floyd. The YouTube star was seen on video inside the mall while looting and vandalizing was taking place. Paul has maintained he was documenting the riots. He released a statement on Twitter: “We filmed everything we saw in an effort to share our experience and bring more attention to the anger felt in every neighborhood we traveled through; we were strictly documenting, not engaging.” Regardless of Paul’s attempt at damage control, Scottsdale police charged him with a criminal misdemeanor on June 4, citing numerous clips that show him participating in the riot. Since then, the City Attorney for Scottsdale has dropped charges, so the FBI can take over the investigation.

Fast-forward to August 5, when Jake Paul’s Calabasas home is swarmed with law enforcement officers, who are searching for (and then confiscating) what appear to be firearms. Along with the Calabasas residence, the FBI also raided a Vegas residence owned by Paul’s friend and collaborator, Armani Izadi. The Vegas home, known to many as “Graffiti Mansion,” was raided at the same time as Paul’s Calabasas home. Izadi, like Paul, was charged with a criminal misdemeanor for his activity during the Scottsdale mall protest. Here is a statement from the FBI to TMZ:  "The FBI is investigating allegations of criminal acts surrounding the incident at Scottsdale Fashion Square in May, 2020." TMZ also obtained footage showing people in cuffs being led out of the mansion: “It looks like a mini military parade, with several guys wearing SWAT and/or tactical gear hanging off the sides.”

Although it’s unclear if Jake Paul or Izadi are among those being led out in custody, it seems that trouble follows Paul wherever he goes. What exactly the police are searching for is unknown, but the raids are spawning from events that transpired back in May. Judging by the scale of the operation, it looks as if Paul from YouTube is entangled in something much larger than what was previously understood.
