3D Clouds and publisher Outright Games have unleashed first details about Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R, an all-new game based on Netflix's Fast & Furious animated series - Spy Racers. This particular interactive adventure previously made the rounds online thanks to a listing via the Australian Game Rating Board.

Fast & Furious: Spy Racers premiered on Netflix in late 2019, with franchise star Vin Diesel attached as an executive producer. Diesel also plays a part in the show itself, appearing on a couple of occasions as the older brother of series protagonist Tony Toretto. Spy Racers follows a group of teenage racers who successfully infiltrate a criminal racing organization. The TV series has, thus far, spawned 30 episodes across four different seasons. As of writing, Netflix has yet to give the greenlight for a fifth run of the animated show.

Today, Outright Games and Universal Games and Digital Platforms unveiled Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms. The 3D Clouds-developed title will hit stores this November, offering a "heart-pounding" six-player online racing experience. Inspired by the Netflix animation, Rise of SH1FT3R will reunite Spy Racers' voice cast as the Spy Racers crew go undercover to prevent the racing gang SH1FT3R from winning a "cutting-edge vehicle" that could wreak untold levels of havoc.

Players can expect to assume the role of heroes such as Tony Toretto, Echo, Cisco, Layla Gray or get behind the wheel as SH1FT3R members like Shashi Dar, Moray, and Rafaela Moreno. In local co-op, multiplayer, and single-player modes, fans will be able to utilize spy gear and customize their cars to give them an edge when racing across tracks set in five locales - Los Angeles, Rio de Janeiro, and the Sahara Desert included.

Rise of SH1FT3R follows on the heels of Fast & Furious: Crossroads, another Fast & Furious racing title that launched late last summer. The game failed to hit the mark in many respects, reviewing poorly out of the gate. With little fanfare to carry it forward, Crossroads has mostly been forgotten.

It'll be interesting to see how Rise of SH1FT3R fares by comparison. On the surface, the two projects seem different enough, which could give the newer adventure an advantage of sorts, especially when considering its emphasis on the use of innovative gadgets.
