The Fast & Furious film series might have taken the espionage highway lately but cars are still a big part of the proceedings, with Dom and his 'family' often needing cool rides to chase after baddies, flee from them or conduct heists. In earlier movies, plenty of incredible cars appeared in race scenes too.

Over the course of 2 decades, the 'family' members have placed their hands on the steering wheels of both expensive supercars as well as affordable rides. But which of the cars have truly been outstanding? Since there are dozens of awesome automobiles, picking only a few can be challenging. Luckily, Redditors have pointed at a few notable ones.

Dodge Charger R/T

1970 Dodge Charger R/T inside Dom's garage in Thailand in Fast 9

DLuz0215 proudly declares, "The most known/iconic car from the entire franchise is Dom's 1970 black Dodge Charger." The car features in every movie Dom appears in.

No fictional character has a better knowledge of cars than Dom and the fact that he keeps using the Charger says a lot about its reliability. With its top speed of 155 mph and acceleration of 0 to 60 in 5.2 seconds, it's never a surprise whenever Dom keeps up with jets while on the road. And as someone who is ever tough, the popular muscle car suits Dom more than any other model.

Nissan Skyline R34

Brian makes a bridge jump in his Nissan Skyline in 2 Fast 2 Furious

Dotdotman1 says the best ride is "Bryan’s car at the start of 2 Fast 2 Furious," with uchiha-gohan adding, "That’s my favorite too. I drive it on Forza every time I log on." The specific car being talked about is the Nissan Skyline R34.

Suki, Slap Jack, and Orange Julius can testify to the R34's brilliance as, despite their best efforts, Brian easily defeats them during the race organized by Tej. Thanks to its 165 mph speed, the car has no difficulty becoming airborne for a couple of minutes either.  And audiences can agree that were it not for Agent Markham firing an ESD harpoon at it, Brian would have never been caught.

Flip Car

Owen Shaw drives his Flip Car in London in Furious 6

Owen Shaw and Vegh drive incredible flip cars during the London pursuit and Redditor jwood14521 heavily roots for them. They write, "Four-wheel steering, a formula 1 engine, a 6-speed manual, and a straight piped exhaust??? That sounds like a riot to drive."

Undoubtedly the most unique ride in the franchise, the Flip Car reminds fans of both the Batmobile and the many great machines used in Grand Prix competitions. Thanks to its front ramp, the car is a moving weapon, able to flip most cars it comes into contact with. Even though both cars get destroyed, their aesthetic awesomeness makes them impossible to forget,

1995 Toyota Supra MK IV

Brian's final scene in his Toyota Supra in Furious 7

Regarding the best cars, IcemaanN mentions "Brian’s Supra from the end of 7." Brian drives the Supra before he and Dom take different routes at a crossroads.

Just as Dom loves the Charger, Brian loves the Supra. In the first movie, he uses an orange 1994 model of the same car. However, the white Supra is remembered fondly by fans because of its emotional aspect. It's in it that Paul Walker is seen for the last time. The car used in the movie actually belonged to Paul Walker too, marking the only time a major actor's personal car was used during filming.

1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo

Sean prepares to race in his 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo in Tokyo Drift

In Tokyo Drift, Sean drives the Monte Carlo during a race with Clay and wins. This Redditor comments, "The Monte Carlo is definitely my favorite."

The race scene in the movie proves that the Monte Carlo is a car not to be underestimated. Despite it only being able to reach speeds of 129 mph, it gets the better of Clay's Dodge Viper which can accelerate up to 206. Part of that has to do with Sean's driving skills, though Clay isn't badly off either.

2011 Lexus LFA

Han and Gisele head to Berlin at the end of Fast Five

After the successful $100 million Rio heist, everyone gets to enjoy their cut. Han is seen speeding with Gisele in the LFA as they head to Berlin. Redditor hellsbellltrudy describes it as "the best luxury car in the series for sure."

The LFA's top speed of 202 mph means Han could bring it with him to missions if he wanted. When the speed is factored in, Han's decision to globetrot using a car makes more sense. The Redditor is also right about it being the best luxury car since it's the only one that Han thinks of after making the most money in his life.

1969 Yenko Camaro SYC

Brian's Yenko Camaro dives to Veron's boat in 2 Fast 2 Furious

NotTheRocketman says "2F2F is in some rarified air for that Yenko alone. That is an exquisitely rare car."In the movie, Brian acquires the car from one of Carter Veron's henchmen after winning a bet.

What makes the Camaro iconic is its involvement in arguably one of the best Fast & Furious stunts where Brian and Roman drive off a pier and crash into Carter Veron's luxury boat in an effort to save Monica Fuentes. Given how fast the car moves in the scene, it's very likely that the Camaro reached its top speed of 140 mph. Sadly, it gets damaged, and getting a new one isn't easy since only a few cars were ever produced.

2018 Noble M600

Magdalene steals a Noble M600 in London in Fast 9

Redditor feels there are many great cars but Queenie's "purple Noble M600" from Fast 9 is truly among the best ones. In the movie, Deckard's mother drives the M600 as she flees from the police after stealing jewelry from a shop in New Bond Street, London.

Queenie's car is indeed noble. Since it's beautiful, hand-built, and has an unrivaled top speed of 225 mph, it's also one of the most expensive Fast & Furious cars. Those seeking to acquire it have to fork out $250,000. It's, therefore, no shocker that the only way any character gets to acquire it is by stealing it.

1966 Chevrolet Corvette C2 Sting Ray

Letty pursues a rogue Dom in Fast & Furious

According to dzz07, another car that ought to be placed among the elite is "Letty’s 66 corvette in Fate Of The Furious." Letty picks the Corvette from the Toy Store before modifying it and using it during the New York chase.

The C2 deserves credit for being the only car that almost manages to stop Dom when he goes rogue. While driving the classic car, Letty manages to get close enough to harpoon the main character. The 140 mph speed helps, but so do Letty's driving skills and the car's all-around performance. Regrettably, it gets damaged.

1993 Honda Civic EJ1

Dom's team conducts a DVD truck heist in Fast & Furious

In the first movie, Dom and Letty lay their trust on Honda Civics during truck heists. Redditor londonbluesox simply labels the car "a winner."

Thanks to the Civic's reliability, fans get to see some of the best Fast & Furious heist scenes. Compared to other cars in the franchise, the civic is quite slow (108mph). However, the area in which it trumps the rest is stability. Truck heists, as seen in the movies, require more than just speed and the Civic mostly remains stable while Dom and his crew load the DVD players.
