Brian O'Conner didn't make the best first impression but he ended up being Dominic Toretto's right-hand-man, friend, and brother in the Fast & Furious franchise. The portrayals by Paul Walker and Vin Diesel in the roles of Brian and Dom, respectively, were a key to the success of the franchise. In total, Walker starred in six installments before the actor's untimely death put a stop to the character's on-screen arc. Brian served as an integral member of The Fast Saga, but how old was he supposed to be in each film?

As the movie series progressed, more of Brian's backstory came into focus. He was raised by a single mother but often got in trouble before finding himself in Juvenile Detention for committing grand theft auto. As an adult, Brian got his act together and joined the Los Angeles Police Department. While working undercover in The Fast and the Furious, Brian first encountered Dom through the local street racing scene. He then left his career in the police and emerged as a vital member of Dom's crew. Aside from starting a family with Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster), Brian was involved in various global heists and missions that often intersected with the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service.

At the start of the franchise, Brian was given a birthday of July 4, 1977. This, however, was a fake date given to his undercover identity. The same went with his other undercover alias with identification that claimed August 29th, 1973 to be his date of birth. Brian's real birthday was later indicated to be July 14, 1978. Based on this date and further details, Brian was in his mid-20s at the start of the film series. Here's a breakdown of the character's age in each installment.

The Fast And The Furious (2001)

The Fast and the Furious was initially thought to take place in 2001. In this case, Brian would have been 22 or 23 years old. That was later retconned in the events that led up to Letty Ortiz's (Michelle Rodriguez) presumed "death." According to the timeline, the first installment was set in 2004 which would make Brian either 25 or 26 depending on the month.

2 Fast 2 Furious (2003)

The first sequel, 2 Fast 2 Furious, debuted two years later and focused on Brian's whereabouts after fleeing Los Angeles. He relocated to Miami before getting involved with Roman Pearce (Tyrese Gibson) in an undercover mission to take down a drug lord. The year was never mentioned but it was most likely less than a year after the original movie, making Brian around 26 or 27.

Letty was believed to be dead in Fast & Furious and according to her grave, she passed away on May 30, 2009. Dom and Brian reunited to avenge Letty's death shortly after the event. In this case, Brian was 30 or on the brink of turning 31-years-old. This was the first official movie to be set in the year it was released.

As the case with Fast & Furious, the next sequel, Fast Five, took place the year it was released. Dom, Brian, Mia, and their crew were on the run from the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service while simultaneously trying to take down a corrupt businessman in Brazil. During the iconic vault heist, Brian was around the age of 32.

In 2013, Letty's family and friends learned that she was alive but under the control of mercenary Owen Shaw (Luke Evans). The group chased Shaw through London while trying to convince Letty to return to them. At this point in Fast & Furious 6, Brian was about 34. Prior to the events of this movie, Brian and Mia had their first child, a son named Jack.

Furious 7 (2015)

Furious 7 marked Brian's last appearance in the Fast & Furious franchise since the actor tragically passed away before filming ended. With the timeline, the character would have been either 35 or 36. Despite Walker's death, Brian is still alive and well in the series but no longer a focus due to obvious reasons.
