Hobbs & Shaw is the ninth Fast & Furious movie and first official spinoff of the franchise, but it's not coming to an end just yet. The film features Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprising their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw, respectively. Even though the series is branching out, the core cast still has a few years worth of adventures to gear up for.

It all started in 2001 with fast cars and street racing but Fast & Furious transformed into an epic tale about family. Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel), Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker), and the rest of the crew traded in the concept of a normal life to instead face off against drug cartels, crime syndicates, and international terrorists. Living life by their own rules made them an enemy of the United States, specifically in the eyes of Luke Hobbs, but he too joined the crew, along with villain-turned-hero, Deckard Shaw.

Even with eight films and now a spinoff in the rearview, Fast & Furious has no intention on hitting the brakes just yet. There are a number of upcoming Fast & Furious movies in development, including another spinoff. More projects will likely come into fruition down the line but these are the confirmed movies on the way.

Fast & Furious 9 - May 22, 2020

Dom might need to rethink his mantra of living a quarter mile at a time now that he has a young son. The child was a major revelation in The Fate of the Furious and Dom is now the only surviving parent since Elena (Elsa Pataky) was killed. Cyberterrorist Cipher (Charlize Theron) managed to get away after manipulating Dom into joining her criminal team. Dom and his crew will surely be on the hunt for Cipher after she escaped their grasps the last time. Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Helen Mirren, and Charlize Theron are confirmed to be reprising their roles for Fast & Furious 9. Jordana Brewster and director Justin Lin are also returning to the franchise. Dwayne Johnson will not be appearing in the film but fellow wrestler, John Cena, is making his Fast & Furious debut.

When Diesel confirmed Fast & Furious 9, he also revealed that the tenth movie is officially in development. The majority of the cast is set to return and Justin Lin plans to direct again. The untitled Fast & Furious 10 movie will be the end of the new trilogy and could serve as the end of the primary franchise. Not much is known about the plot of the sequel but Diesel is not opposed to taking the action into space.

Hobbs & Shaw 2 - Likely 2022

Technically, an official Hobbs & Shaw sequel hasn't been confirmed, but it's extremely likely. The characters were chosen for a focused spinoff due to their popularity with viewers, thanks to Johnson and Statham's on-screen chemistry. The film has received mostly positive reviews and there's obvious interest from moviegoers. Presently, Hobbs & Shaw 2 all depends on the box office numbers, although it's safe to assume that a sequel will occur in the near future. And, considering Fast & Furious closes out the latest trilogy in 2021, a sequel for Hobbs & Shaw would most likely premiere in 2022 or later.

Female-Centered Spinoff - Unknown

Earlier this year, Diesel confirmed that another Fast & Furious spinoff was in development that it would center on the women within the franchise. Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and Ramsey (Nathalie Emmanuel) are assumed to be the characters at the center of the spinoff, and now that Jordana Brewster has returned to the franchise, her involvement as Mia is also on the cards. So far, there is no word on the release date or a director attached to the film. Nicole Perlman, Lindsey Beer, and Geneva Robertson-Dworet, however, have been confirmed as the screenwriters.
