Though she joined Dom Toretto's crew midway through the Fast & Furious franchise, Gisele Yashar's timeline intersected with the family's during some of their most crucial missions. First introduced in 2009's Fast & Furious and played by Gal Gadot, Gisele was a supporting character who grew into a full-fledged member of Dom's family by her second appearance in the franchise. A brilliant mix of guile and skill, Gisele was so much more than a pretty face, and she was one of the most useful members of the crew during the missions she assisted in. While she only appeared a few times, she left a big mark on the series.

Unlike other characters who had long and fleshed-out backstories, Gisele's history was left vague in the films and that has left the door open for more possibilities for her in the future. Ranked among Gadot's best films, her handful of appearances in the Fast & Furious franchise helped launch her into superstardom, and she proved herself to be a bona fide action star in the process. Even as the films grew sillier and sillier, Gisele's cool demeanor and impressive background always kept her grounded in reality, while still embodying all the over-the-top traits that made the series so memorable.

Early Life (? - 2009)

Little information was revealed about Gisele's early life in the Fast & Furious, but it could be assumed by her connection to Mossad that she was born in Israel, a fact reflected by Gadot's own heritage. It was established from the beginning that Gisele Yashar had worked for Mossad, and picked up her incredibly unique skill set that included interrogation techniques, expert driving, and immense knowledge of weaponry from the spy organization. As revealed in 2021's F9, which changed Gisele's story, she had worked with CIA agent Mr. Nobody at some point before her first appearance in the series timeline in 2009.

Working For Arturo Braga (2009)

At some point after departing her CIA job, Gisele began working for the notorious drug lord Arturo Braga, and served as his business liaison. As seen in 2009's Fast & Furious, Gisele helped to recruit street racers to work as runners for Braga's dangerous border crossing missions into Mexico. While recruiting drivers at a street race in Los Angeles, Gisele met Dom Toretto and undercover FBI Agent Brian O'Conner, both of whom competed in the race in order to infiltrate Braga's crew for their own purposes. Toretto won, earning a spot on the team, and O'Conner had a racer arrested to secure a place as a driver.

Gisele was not aware of Dom Toretto's full backstory, but she took an immediate liking to him and even made advances that were ultimately rebuffed. After O'Conner and Toretto managed to avoid being executed by Braga's henchman Fenix Calderon, the pair returned to the U.S. and hatched a plan to trap the kingpin and have him arrested. At the handoff sting, Braga's true identity was kept a secret, and the drug lord managed to escape with only his decoy taking the fall. Gisele was betrayed by her employer and Dom saved her after she was caught in the crossfire. She rewarded him by revealing Braga's secret hiding spot in Mexico.

Joining Dom's Crew (2011)

As seen in the events of 2011's Fast Five, Gisele was recruited to be part of Dom's crew because he was impressed by her skills and loyalty. Though every heist in the Fast & Furious franchise was over-the-top, Gisele was roped into one of Dom's biggest schemes yet, and she joined him and the rest of the gang in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Dom had been in Brazil on the heels of notorious criminal Zizi, and he assembled his family in order to steal $100 million that the gangster had hidden away in a local vault. Dom's choice was immediately rewarded, and Gisele proved to be incredibly useful.

Along with Han Seoul-Oh, Gisele was dispatched to secure the handprint of a man named Reyes who had important security clearance at the vault. Han was discouraged by Reyes' personal guards, but Gisele called on a skill he didn't have to obtain the print. Gisele used her beauty to distract the criminal, and scored the print when he placed his hand on her. Preparing for one of the F&F series' biggest climaxes, Gisele used her expert driving skill to almost pass the difficult time trial, but the driving duties went to someone else. Following the job, Gisele was seen with Han as the couple drove down the German Autobahn.

Taking On Shaw And Death (2013)

Following their massive score in Rio, Han and Gisele settled down to a quiet life in Hong Kong and were ostensibly retired from the exciting lives they once lived. However, as seen in 2013's Fast & Furious 6, the couple was pressed back into service by the arrival of arch-villain Owen Shaw, and they rejoined Dom and his family for yet another mission. Shaw began attacking key military and government sites around the globe, and he put millions of lives at risk with his deadly plans. Every member of Dom's family had their own important skills, but her mission in 2013 allowed Gisele's Mossad training to shine through.

Gisele was able to extract information from one of Shaw's men using her interrogation techniques, and the group uncovered Shaw's connection to drug lord Arturo Braga. While attempting to stop Shaw from escaping in a plane, Han and Gisele pursued their target in a Land Rover and Gisele was nearly thrown from the vehicle in the fracas. Han prevented her from falling from the car, but Gisele noticed that Shaw's henchman Adolfson was going to kill Han, and she opted to release his grasp in order to shoot the attacker. She then plunged to her death which left Han heartbroken at her loss.

Aftermath And Legacy (2013 - 2019)

Following her death in Fast & Furious 6 in 2013, Dom and his family honored Gisele's sacrifice during their mission. Though it has become impossible to kill off an F&F character, Gisele did not return the intervening years between 2013 and 2019, but 2021's F9 saw Mr. Nobody call on Han because of his connection with Gisele. Mr. Nobody recruited Han to stop Cypher from stealing Project Aries, and his mission gave him a new lust for life with Gisele's memory in mind. Fast & Furious has often shown that death isn't a permanent condition in the movies, and Gisele could possibly pop up in future installments.
