Chris Pratt shares his thoughts on the concept of Universal's Jurassic World and Fast & Furious blockbuster franchises crossing over. Originally based on Michael Crichton's bestselling novel, the Jurassic franchise has been the studio's most profitable since the first Steven Spielberg-helmed film in 1993, grossing nearly $10 billion across box office, merchandise and home video sales. Pratt joined the franchise with the Jurassic World sequel trilogy, which has seen the first two installments gross over $1 billion each.

Much like the dinosaur-centric series, the Fast & Furious franchise is one of the biggest moneymakers for Universal, having brought in an estimated $6.35 billion across its eight mainline installments and one spinoff. Initially putting a spotlight on the world of street racing, the films have progressively expanded their scope and scale to a large-scale heist movie in the fifth installment and globe-trotting spy capers in the subsequent sequels. With the most recent installment taking the series to space, star Michelle Rodriguez recently brought the idea of crossing over the Fast & Furious and Jurassic Park franchises to the table and it appears she's not the only one open to the concept.

In an interview with CinemaBlend to discuss the forthcoming Amazon sci-fi actioner The Tomorrow War, Pratt was asked his thoughts on the Jurassic and F&F crossover proposed by Rodriguez. While offering his own thoughts on the subject, Pratt's co-star and interview partner Edwin Hodge joked the film could see velociraptor Blue driving a Hot Rod Camaro. Check out what Pratt had to say below:

"I hadn’t heard that! Yeah, let’s do it. That sounds good. Because… if there’s one thing a T-Rex can’t ‘F’ with, it’s family. Hey man, if that’s what the audience wants, I’m in. … That’d be sick. I’d love to work with Vin. That’d be good."

Studio synergy is certainly a thing nowadays, especially over at the House of Mouse, but the idea of a crossover between Jurassic World and Fast & Furious is probably the most bonkers idea ever spoken. That being said, it may also just be what each series needs to help revitalize their stories and create something that toes the line of absurdly entertaining and wholly unique. With the reviews for the latest Fast installment taking some critical aim at the unrealistic nature of its action sequences, there doesn't seem any reason why not to put the pedal through the floor Flintstones style and end the series with some dino-versus-car action.

Not to mention, with the last Jurassic World film having established that humans will have to adjust with dinosaurs living on the mainland, the set up is already there to pit Dom and his Fast & Furious crew against the prehistoric creatures. If anything, it may give fans the opportunity for Dwayne Johnson to punch some dinosaur after missing out on the opportunity in Rampage. For now, American audiences can at least look forward to the racing family's return to the big screen when F9 hits theaters in two weeks while Pratt's Owen Grady will be seen again when Jurassic World: Dominion arrives in June 2022.
