The Fast & Furious spinoff Hobbs and Shaw has gotten an official title and a new first look image. The possibility of a Fast and Furious spinoff film has been floating around for a few years now, and the first spinoff will feature Dwayne Johnson's character Luke Hobbs, who first appeared in Fast Five, teaming up with Jason Statham's character Deckard Shaw, who was first seen as the villain of Furious 7.

Over the past year, fans have gotten a lot of details surrounding the first ever Fast and Furious spinoff, mainly thanks to Johnson himself. Since Shaw is seen as more of a hero in this spinoff, the film needed a new villain, which will be in the form of Idris Elba as the character Brixton. The film will also introduce a new member of the Shaw family, as Vanessa Kirby will play Deckard's sister. The film has also recently cast Eiza González as a mysterious character called "Madam M". Fans have definitely been kept in the loop on the Hobbs and Shaw team-up film, but now the spinoff has gotten an official title.

While many fans are looking forward to this spinoff film, Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw has no doubt been surrounded with controversies since it was announced. Due to the ongoing feud between Vin Diesel and Johnson, 2 Fast 2 Furious star Tyrese Gibson has blamed the delay of Fast and Furious 9 on Johnson, and even called his spinoff selfish. Universal Studios has also been sued over the project, since Fast and Furious producer Neal H. Moritz was dropped as a producer on the spinoff.

Despite the drama surrounding the project, many fans are looking forward to this spinoff. Both Johnson and Statham's popularity in Hollywood has grown considerably in the past few years, since they continue to star in big blockbusters.
