The Fast & Furious franchise has had some extremely cool cars through the span of the current eight films made in nineteen years. It's one of the best franchises that continues to put out entertaining movies. Some of the most popular vehicles today derived pop cultural impact from the films. From Brian O'Connor's Toyota Supra to Dominic Toretto's Charger, we've gotten to see so many iconic cars reappear time and time again.

Fast 9 is set to release on May 22nd of this year, with a trailer coming out on January 31st. Here are five cars that need to return in the next movie, and five that we never want to see again.

Should Return: Mia's Black Acura NSX

This is one of the coolest cars in the whole franchise. Mia's 2003 Acura NSX was used in 2009's Fast and Furious and 2011's Fast Five. This car was marketed in North America as the Acura NSX but sports the Honda logo in the film. It was originally made by Honda.

While Mia's story was closed out in 2015's Furious 7, it would be a very cool homage to see a new female character drive this car in the future. The version in the film had a pretty neat red leather interior with an all-black paint job. This car overall just has a slick look to it and we'd love to see it return in the next movie.

Never Want To See Again: Nissan Silvia S15

This car gave us our first look into the drifting world of the third film, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. The main protagonist, Sean Boswell races against Takashi with it after he's caught talking to his girlfriend, Neela. The car itself was pretty cool at the time but probably wouldn't hold up too well and make fans excited if it were to ever return. The color of it was a bit strange and doesn't hold much nostalgia compared to some of the other cars in the franchise. Its original owner, Han, did end up being a memorable character. Like the film itself, it's kinda just mediocre.

Should Return: Dom's Charger

Dominick Toretto's 1970 Dodge Charger has become a staple in the Fast & Furious franchise. It's been quite overused, appearing in almost every film so far. Even so, it just has a nostalgic feeling attached to it, being used in the first film and appearing with different modifications throughout the sequels. It was handed to Dom by his father and has always felt right to feature in the sequels as its a rival to Brian's Supra.

Some of its modifications have gotten crazy over the years, such as the off-road Charger in Furious 7 and the ice charger in The Fate of the Furious but hopefully, the next movie will see a return to the original look. It even appears in the Fast and Furious Crossroads video game that's set to release in May.

Never Want To See Again: Eclipse Spyder GTS

Almost every fan can agree that this is one of, if not, the ugliest car in the franchise. Its color is hideous, the chrome rims are ridiculous, and the spoiler doesn't look right. The webbed design on the body doesn't help make it look any less ridiculous.

It was owned by Roman Pearce and was used in the weakest and most poorly rated film of the franchise, 2 Fast 2 Furious. One thing that does make it pretty cool is the Florida license plate that reads "H8TR" on it. It definitely doesn't need to come back in the next film, or ever.

Should Return: Nissan Skyline GT-R R34

Fast and Furious Nissan Skyline

It's been almost 7 years since Paul Walker's tragic death. While Furious 7 paid a very emotional tribute and final goodbye to the franchise legend, the return of his iconic Supra would be a very cool way to remember him in a small cameo. It could even be a small easter egg for fans of the franchise. Something like this would definitely be well suited for whenever they decide to put an end to the franchise. Imagine watching the final film of the franchise to see Dom finally retire, pulling up to Brian's R34 Skyline at the end with his son who was named after him. It would be a fitting end but we definitely have a couple more movies to go before we reach that point.

Never Want To See Again: Bentley Continental

Besides the orange Lambo, Roman Pearce seems to get a lot of the uglier cars in the franchise. We'll have to see what he uses in Fast 9 but the 2010 Bentley Continental is definitely a step up from the Eclipse Spyder. The car isn't terrible, it just doesn't look as fast and furious (pun intended) as the other cars in The Fate of the Furious. The paint job is a bit weird with white around the body and red on the top of the car.

Thankfully, it does get wrecked by Dom and Roman gets to drive a Lamborghini for the rest of the film until that gets wrecked too. It was a cool car to feature in the last movie but it won't be missed. Next time around we hope Roman gets something that stands out, possibly a true classic.

Should Return: Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra is a classic and another staple in the franchise. It's a vehicle that still holds its value amongst fans even today with it being almost every young car enthusiast's dream car. It's appeared in a couple of the movies as one of Brian's main vehicles.

The most iconic version of the car is definitely the orange one used in the classic The Fast and the Furious movie against Dom's Charger. A different one appeared in the emotional ending scene of Furious 7. According to this site, the one used in that scene was Paul Walker's personal Supra.

Never Want To See Again: Lamborghini Aventador

The Lamborghini Aventador is a very fast car, we get it. The Aventador is definitely iconic but it wouldn't hurt the franchise to never see again. This car was included in Furious 7 as Deckard Shaw's main vehicle. It appears in Dubai, which is where you'd probably find them in real life. It's got a really cool look but isn't as memorable as The Fate of the Furious's bright orange Lamborghini Murcielago. What would be really cool is to see classic Lamborghini models such as the Miura or 350 GT appear in the next movie. Classic cars are always a cool addition to these films.

Should Return: Honda Civic EJ1

Ol' reliable, or as some may call it, the perfect first car. Honda Civics are amazing cars, so of course, they'd be in this franchise. The 1993 Honda Civic EJ1 appeared in the first film when Dom, Leon, and Letty hijack a semi. They also appear in the third act of the film when they attempt hijacking another.

These are just awesome looking cars that aren't flashy or crazy looking. They're pretty simple. The green neon lights used in the movie give off a Grand Theft Auto modification feel with the slick black paint job.  There are other cool versions of the civic these days such as the newer Type R and even SI models but nothing compares to these old school civics.

Never Want To See Again: Hulk Volkswagen

This car will almost definitely never appear again and if it does it could maybe have a different Marvel superhero on it just for fun. The 2005 Volkswagen Touran was shown in The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Owned and used by Twinkie, it's definitely a standout vehicle. It's not even that the car is ugly, it's just hilariously ridiculous. Not only does it have Hulk's hands popping out of the doors of the car, but it also has a purple interior with action figures inside. If you'd like to see this monstrous atrocity, it can be found at the Hulk ride in Universal Studios, Orlando.
