After sitting out recent franchise installments, Han Lue and Mia Toretto make their triumphant return in this action-packed F9 clip. The ninth film in the Fast & Furious series was originally slated to premiere last year. However, Universal later delayed it to 2021 due to the pandemic; F9 is now poised to be one of the biggest movies of this summer as the box office gradually recovers from a crushing 2020. With insane stunts, exciting returns, and the arrival of Dominic Toretto's (Vin Diesel) estranged brother Jakob (John Cena), F9 is ready to be the ultimate summer movie.
When the film begins, Dom has settled into a quiet life with Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) and his son Brian. However, the reemergence of Jakob, who has an eye on exacting revenge on Dom, breaks up the peaceful bliss. Dom and his family must unite once more to save the day, and they'll be joined by some old faces. Mia (Jordana Brewster) returns for the first time since 2015's Furious 7, while Han (Sung Kang) has mysteriously been resurrected following his apparent death in Fast & Furious 6.
In the latest clip from F9 (via IGN), Mia and Han take the wheel during one of the movie's biggest action sequences. Han shows off some impressive moves while Mia activates their car's superpowered magnet, thus allowing them to hijack an enemy's vehicle. Check it out below.
This magnet car sequence of Fast & Furious 9 is building up quite a reputation online. Dom and the rest use their magnets to trap Jakob's team's cars, a concept that actually makes for some thrilling visuals. At the same time, some have pointed out how improbable the magnet cars actually are, much like the rest of the action in the Fast & Furious franchise. Still, it's a lot of fun, and that's all anyone can really ask for when it comes to this crowd-pleasing series.
For longtime fans of Fast & Furious, it will no doubt be exciting to see Han and Mia back in the front seats again. Much of the attention around Jakob's arrival has been centered on his relationship with Dom, but as their sister, Mia will surely contribute a fair amount. As for Han, his surprise appearance in F9's first trailer inspired ecstatic reactions across the internet. It isn't yet clear how he actually gets to be in F9 after perishing years ago, but that doesn't diminish how awesome it is to have him back. The family truly is back together again.
