As Fast & Furious 9's release date nears, Sung Kang talks about the Justice For Han movement and how Deckard Shaw can be accountable in conjunction with that. Following two years of delay, the ninth installment of the main The Fast Saga and 10th overall is all geared up to hit theaters. This excites fans who have been anticipating the blockbuster for a while now, especially when it was revealed that Han is back.

There are a lot of things to look forward to in F9. Dom's "la familia" is back as they face a brand new adversary — his and Mia's own brother, Jakob who's also backed by Fate of the Furious villain Cipher. The film will reveal what exactly went down between the Toretto brothers, explaining why Jakob was isolated from his siblings. Elsewhere, however, there's intense anticipation to learn more about how exactly Han is alive after years of being perceived dead. As a beloved member of the crew, this revelation is big especially as The Fast Saga begins its culmination with its final trilogy of movies.

Speaking with People, Kang opens up about his return to the car-centric franchise and what can be expected in terms of the Justice For Han movement. While the actor didn't reveal any spoilers, he says that there are some explanations in F9. Interestingly, he also floats the idea that Deckard could be redeemed.

We'll have explanations in Fast 9. ... Everybody loves Jason, so why not, right? I've got to include him, right? Hey, if I can die 10 times, he can turn into a good guy from a bad guy. [laughs] It's not that big of a deal, but it's a course correction for the audience. Never dismiss and disrespect the audience. They are the reason why the movies exist, so you can't just ignore them. It's cool and great that a studio like Universal listens, they listen. That's a course correction. That's the justice.

Fast and Furious 9 Han holds a gun

There was a backlash in the aftermath of Han's death, but it further intensified in Fate of the Furious when Dom seemingly forgave and accepted Deckard in his crew without so much of an apology for the murder of their long-time teammate. Granted that the older Shaw brother saved his secret son with Elena from Cipher, many thought that the movie should've at least properly discussed Han's car crash. Now that he's back, there's so much anticipation that the much-clamored Justice For Han will finally be achieved one way or another. After all, director Justin Lin admitted that delivering on this idea is one of the main reasons why he wanted to return to The Fast Saga.

Whether or not Han finally got justice for what happened to him in Fast & Furious 9 is unknown. As far as official information is, Deckard is not appearing in the upcoming blockbuster, so it's quite difficult to properly hash out the matter without him involved. That said, with Lin still involved in the next two movies in The Fast Saga, it's possible that this plotline will play out throughout them. By then, perhaps Jason Statham can find himself back in the main narrative.
