Jason Momoa shares new details about his mysterious Fast & Furious 10 villain. With last year's F9, the adrenaline-pumping car-racing franchise soared to new heights - literally, as some characters briefly ended up in space. Its late June release meant it was one of the first major blockbusters to usher in the summer movie season amid the pandemic, and it proved there was a desire to return to movie theaters when it earned $721 million worldwide. F9 was a triumphant return for the beloved franchise, but now the time to say goodbye is approaching.

The main Fast & Furious saga will end with a two-part finale. The first installment, Fast & Furious 10, will premiere in May 2023, with the eleventh and last movie coming sometime after. Justin Lin returns to direct both parts. Plot details are still being kept under wraps, but much of the original Fast & Furious cast is set to return for this last outing. In terms of newcomers, Momoa boarded the franchise in January; he was followed by The Suicide Squad fan favorite Daniela Melchior. Their characters' details are also being kept a secret, though Momoa is confirmed to be playing the villain.

Momoa recently spoke to ET while on the red carpet for the new film Ambulance, and he revealed some new details about his villainous turn in Fast & Furious 10. Not only did he preview what kind of guy his mystery villain is, Momoa also confirmed he has scenes with franchise lead Vin Diesel and one of Fast & Furious' biggest villains: Charlize Theron. Momoa said:

"He's amazing. He's ornery. He's misunderstood. I get to shoot with some really cool people that I have never -- I get to work with Charlize [Theron] first up, which I'm really excited about. She's amazing. Then I get to go to some cool places. Obviously work with the whole cast -- most of the cast... But yeah, I'm excited I'm working with Vin. I'm excited I'm working with Charlize."

The Fast & Furious franchise has a great track record when it comes to the performers it manages to nab for its villain roles. In the past, those like Theron, John Cena, and Idris Elba (for the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw) have slipped into the part of antagonist, and they have always looked like they are having great fun. Momoa is best known for more heroic parts like Aquaman and Duncan Idaho, so the prospect of seeing him play a classic, misunderstood bad guy is an appealing one. That Momoa himself is equally excited just suggests his Fast & Furious 10 villain will be a memorable one.

Though what he wants from Dom Toretto (Diesel) and his family isn't yet clear, the added detail that he will share scenes with Theron's Cipher leads to a lot of possibilities. Cipher teamed up with F9's main villain, Cena's Jakob, and she was still actively plotting against Dom up until the end of the film. Clearly, she is far from finished, and Fast & Furious 10 will see her once again seek to end Diesel's hero. How she intends to do that and how she will work with Momoa is something that fans will get to find out for themselves when Fast & Furious 10 drives into theaters next year.
