A new photo from the set of Fast X shows stars Vin Diesel and Daniela Melchior in a mysterious location. With the first movie having been released back in 2001, the Fast & Furious franchise is one of the longest-running and most profitable action franchises to date. The most recent film in the series, F9: The Fast Saga hit theaters last year and, despite mostly negative reviews from critics, went on to earn over $726 million at the box office. It was announced shortly after the release of that film that the Fast Saga would come to an end after 2 further installments.

While much of the plot of Fast X remains unknown, the film initially suffered from some behind-the-scenes drama early on in production with longtime franchise director Justin Lin stepping down from the film reportedly due to friction with Diesel. With Transporter director Louis Leterrier having now been brought on as director, Fast X is now well into shooting, with Diesel sharing frequent sneak-peeks on social media, including photos of him with new and returning cast members. Fast X features an impressive cast, with stars including Brie Larson, Tyrese Gibson, Charlize Theron, Sung Kang, Alan Ritchson, Ludacris, Jason Momoa, and Michelle Rodriguez, among others.

In a new image posted to Melchior's Instagram, the actress can be seen applying makeup to Diesel on the set of Fast X. The image is geo-tagged as having been taken in London, England, and the photo is clearly taken on a soundstage, with a large blue screen in the background. While it's hard to make out exactly where the scene is supposed to take place, sand on the ground and a palm tree in the corner of the shot suggest it's somewhere tropical. While the action of early Fast & Furious films was contained mostly to the city streets in locations like Los Angeles and Miami, later films in the franchise became globe-trotting adventures, with the crew traveling to various cities across Asia, Europe, South America, and the Middle East. F9: The Fast Saga, for example, featured action in the fictional county of Montequinto in South America, as well as extensive sequences in London, Edinburgh, and Tokyo. Fast X would appear to be no exception thus far, with other set photos and Melchior's most recent post suggesting that the team will once again be traveling to a host of locations around the globe.

Much of the plot of Fast X remains unknown at this point, but the franchise is boasting more characters than ever before, including the introduction of Melchior's currently-unknown character. With so many new faces and the expectation that Fast X will once more take place in cities around the world, the film is shaping up to be the biggest installment in the franchise yet. After F9: The Fast Saga earned mostly poor reviews, however, it remains to be seen whether Fast X will be able to wield its many new characters and locations to create a compelling and entertaining story.
