Vin Diesel and Brie Larson cozy up in a new behind-the-scenes image from Fast & Furious 10. Diesel returns to the role of Dominic Toretto in the 10th installment in Universal's fast-moving franchise, which reunites the core cast with some new players as the series winds down to its finale. Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Sung Kang, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Nathalie Emmanuel, Michael Rooker, Scott Eastwood, and Charlize Theron are all returning to their respective Fast & Furious roles, while newcomers Larson, Daniela Melchior, Jason Momoa, and Alan Ritchson round out the new cast.

Fast 10 recently hit a snag when director Justin Lin exited the project a week into filming over "creative differences," later to be replaced by The Incredible Hulk's Louis Leterrier. The script is from Lin and Dan Mazeau and is the first in a two-part closer for the franchise's main narrative story. Plot and character details are still being kept largely under wraps, particularly in regards to Fast & Furious 10's newcomers. While it has been confirmed that Momoa is playing the villain, Larson's character remains an enigma.

Recently, Diesel posted a new behind-the-scenes image of himself alongside Larson on set. The two are snuggling up to one another in a warm moment that, if referencing their characters, suggests a potential family link. In the post, Diesel writes: "There are some people you will meet in life…. That will change you, change your family… change the world, FOREVER!," which helps suggest that Larson is more than a random newcomer to the series. Take a look at the post below:

It's been theorized, although not confirmed, that Larson will be playing the sister of the late Paul Walker's character, Brian O'Conner, in Fast & Furious 10. No such character has appeared or been hinted at in any of the prior films, but it's entirely possible that this could be the case. Walker died in a tragic car accident in 2013, and the Fast & Furious franchise has worked to keep his memory alive ever since. Walker's character was not killed off, instead surviving as an off-camera presence that still exists in the world of The Fast and The Furious. His brother Cody Walker helped stand in for him to finish Furious 7 and appears to be on the set of Fast 10 in one of Diesel's latest posts. However, the extent of his involvement, if any, has yet to be revealed.

If Cody Walker is indeed returning to help portray his late brother, then it's entirely possible that there could be deeper ties to that return, such as Larson being a sister rather than just a stunt-cast random character. The image that Diesel posted certainly suggests there's more going on than that, but not all mysteries have been revealed as of yet. However it plays out, Larson has joined the growing ranks of the over-the-top vehicular family-centric franchise, which is sure to push the limits in every conceivable way as it races to the finish. Fast & Furious 10 zooms into theaters one year to the date on May 19, 2023.
