The main characters in the Fast & Furious franchise are reimagined as children in a new batch of slightly eerie AI-generated images. The first Fast & Furious movie was released in 2001, introducing audiences to Vin Diesel's Dom, Paul Walker's Brian, Michelle Rodriguez's Letty, and Jordana Brewster's Mia. The franchise has since grown in scale and scope, now featuring more over-the-top action sequences and a much bigger cast.

Following the release of Fast X, the tenth installment, AI art shared by blackstyle.ai on Instagram imagines what the franchise's main characters would look like as kids. Check out the art below:

The post includes reimagined versions of Dom, Letty, Brian, Mia, Roman (Tyrese Gibson), Tej (Ludacris), Han (Sung Kang), and Gisele (Gal Gadot).

Would A Fast & Furious Origin Story Movie Work?

The latest Fast & Furious AI art imagining the franchise's key players as children raises an interesting question regarding whether a movie exploring the younger days of the main characters would be a worthwhile endeavor. When audiences first meet Dom, Brian, and Mia in 2001's The Fast and the Furious, they're much younger, perhaps in their mid-20s, but they're hardly children. A prequel film could potentially further explore Dom's love of cars or why Brian would eventually pursue a career as a cop.

That being said, F9: The Fast Saga already featured a number of flashback scenes that shed light on Dom's past. Dom as a character has now been quite extensively explored to the point where it feels like there's not a ton of meat left on the bone in terms of how he can be further fleshed out. If a Fast & Furious origin story were to move forward, it would possibly be better served to focus on a supporting character whose past remains somewhat mysterious.

Kang's Han already has an origin story of sorts, with the character actually first appearing in a film called Better Luck Tomorrow in 2002 before then later being incorporated into the Fast & Furious franchise. His love interest Gisele, however, could be an interesting subject for an origin story. Not much is known about Gisele's past, but she is shown to be proficient with weapons, likely due to past combat experience. Although it would be interesting to see a Fast & Furious character fleshed out with an origin story, sometimes keeping the mystery alive is the better option.
