The return of Gisele Yashar in the Fast & Furious franchise would open a major problem for the series. The Fast Saga is revving up to continue with its 10th installment, Fast X, and will bring Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and his family up against a new villain. That antagonist, Dante Reyes (Jason Momoa), holds a vendetta against Dom and co. that stretches back to Fast Five, and will bring about a major reckoning for them in Fast X.

In addition to the confirmed cast, Fast X will reportedly include a major cameo, and with the return of Han (Sung Kang) in F9, it seems like a strong possibility that it will be none other than his girlfriend Gisele Yashar (Gal Gadot). Han's return came after his ostensible death in Fast & Furious: Tokyo Drift, and Gisele's own potential return would also reverse her apparent demise in Fast & Furious 6. While this would make narrative and thematic sense for both Han and Gisele, the nature of Gisele's supposed death would also create a big problem for the Fast & Furious series.

Gisele's death took place during the climactic airport runway chase in Fast & Furious 6, with Gisele and Han clinging to a car dangling from the speeding cargo plane. When Gisele sees one of the bad guys sneaking up on Han, she lets go in order to shoot at Han's attacker, and in doing so sacrifices herself, falling from the car onto the runway. Gisele returning would be easily the most impressive character revival of any in the Fast Saga due to the nature of her death.

Gisele's fall would have seen her land on a concrete airport runway at 100 miles per hour, which realistically would shatter every bone in her body. If Gisele does indeed come back in Fast X, her return would be a definitive statement that no character's demise in the Fast Saga is set in stone. Of course, that would hardly violate the rules of the Fast Saga, which has long since ditched any concern for physical reality. Still, it would make one story twist an absolute necessity for Fast & Furious 11.

Fast & Furious 11 Needs To Make Some Deaths Stick

While the returns of Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), Han, and potentially Gisele is bringing as much of the franchise's ensemble back together as possible ahead of the Fast & Furious franchise's ending, the trade-off is that it is also losing stakes. With Letty and Han returning, and Gisele's resurrection coming after a particularly conclusive-looking death, there is less and less in the way of actual danger for Dom and his family to go up against right when the Fast Saga's stakes should be at their highest. If Gisele does return in Fast X, Fast & Furious 11 has to finally do the unthinkable and kill off some Fast Saga characters for good.

Even with a major death teased for Fast X, Gisele's return would necessitate making it or a death in Fast & Furious 11 permanent for the sake of believability. The bigger question is who would that character or characters be, and while there are multiple possibilities, no Fast & Furious character's death would carry as much impact as Dom himself going out in a blaze of glory. At any rate, in order for Gisele to come back, someone else is going to have to fall on the sword for her in either Fast X or Fast & Furious 11.
