In one of Far Cry 6's Yaran stories, "Shock Therapy," players get a unique encounter with one of Yara's beautiful creatures: they get to feed the pelicans. The side quests in Far Cry 6, called Yaran Stories, offer a ton of extra story material. They allow players to explore new parts of the map, new characters, and new interactions with the world. Unfortunately, in this Far Cry 6 side mission, many players don't know how to find the birds they need to feed.
While it sounds simple, finding these seabirds can be a little tricky. Pelicans, like the horses in Far Cry 6, are typically found in specific locations. Once found, though, it is pretty easy to get them fed. Players have to catch and feed three fish to the pelicans, so this mission section takes place in two parts.
To feed the pelicans in Far Cry 6, players will need to make their way to a body of water with a fishing rod and catch the three fish they will use. To capture the fish, they can just take their fishing rod, which they should already have by this point in the game, and head to a body of water around the island where they picked up "Shock Therapy." This location isn't too far from where the pelicans can be found, so this part of the mission doesn't take long.
How to Feed the Pelicans in Far Cry 6
For those that haven't gotten much experience fishing in Far Cry 6, all they have to do is select their fishing rod from the weapon wheel while at a body of water. Once the rod is equipped, players can hold down RT/R2 to throw out the lure. Then, when the lure has been cast, they can just hold LT/L2 to reel it in quickly and look out for fish in the water to follow it. This method may take a few casts, but once a fish is seen following the lure, players can let go of the trigger to slow down the lure until the fish bites. When the fish bites, players can hit RT/R2 to hook it, then hold LT/L2 while moving the right stick in the prompted directions to keep the line from breaking.
Once players have caught three fish, they can make their way to the location marked on the map above. Pelicans can reliably be found here, and they are usually in small groups. While having a few to feed is nice, players can feed one pelican three times to complete the mission objective, but spreading the love may make players feel better. When approaching Far Cry 6's pelicans, players don't have to be too careful as the birds don't run off or attack, so there isn't any particular method needed to get close to them.
