Ubisoft utilized several adorable animals throughout Far Cry 6 promotional materials, but Chorizo swiftly became the most popular. The sausage dog is perhaps Far Cry 6’s most unique Amigo, sporting a homemade wheelchair and various pouches for tools and other resources. Despite his disability, Chorizo’s determination to assist the guerilla factions is unparalleled. While he doesn’t efficiently kill enemies, Chorizo still utilizes his cuteness to help defeat Anton Castillo’s many military grunts and retake Yara - and wins the hearts of players at the same time.

Chorizo is one of the first Amigos players can recruit in Yara. He belongs to Philly, an explosives expert and mechanic. Both Chorizo and Philly are part of the Monteros, a guerilla faction in Far Cry 6 which Libertad attempts to bring to their side. Players later gain access to the "Who’s A Good Dog" mission, which requires collecting and delivering three items found throughout the game’s map. Afterward, Chorizo becomes a summonable companion for Dani Rojas during missions and free-roaming.

While Chorizo isn’t the most helpful Amigo in Far Cry 6, he is the most adorable and comes with various abilities to assist Dani as they fight for Yara’s freedom. Not only is Chorizo able to heal, but he can also distract enemies for stealth missions. His history with Philly makes Chorizo invaluable when hunting for resources, as the resourceful little hound is also able to locate hidden materials beneath the ground. Far Cry games are frequently bloody, chaotic games, but Chorizo has more than a few cute habits to make the experience more pleasant.

Far Cry 6 Demands Players Feed Chorizo

Far Cry 6 Chorizo Eats

Each Far Cry 6 Amigo requires players to complete different tasks to win their loyalty. Sometimes this can involve completing certain quests or challenges, but with Chorizo the incentive is much more straightforward. By collecting Chorizo’s favorite types of food and setting them in his bowl, players can watch the little wiener dog chows down on his meal. There is also the option for players to deliver only some of the ingredients, which results in Chorizo throwing a little temper tantrum. Watching a dachshund in a wheelchair bounce around while barking in frustration is both humorous and adorable, giving players a break from the tense environment for a little while.

Chorizo’s Traversal Methods In Far Cry 6 Are Adorable (And Impressive)

The terrain of Yara's map in Far Cry 6 varies greatly depending on location, and Chorizo isn’t always the best equipped to handle these challenges. Thankfully Chorizo is a resourceful pooch and always finds a way to join Dani in their conquests across Yara. Players can bear witness to some of his problem-solving abilities by vaulting over a fence or other high obstacles. Chorizo follows players until he realizes there is no way to pass and will then begin his trek to find more suitable terrain to cross or climb. At the right angle, players can witness Chorizo hauling himself over obstacles (in physics-defying fashion) and leaping to safety on the other side. Though it breaks some immersion, watching Chorizo accomplish these incredible feats is one of the game's most adorable events.

Chorizo Is Far Cry 6’s Cutest Accessory To Murder

Unlike Amigos like Far Cry’s Boomer or Oluso, Chorizo cannot perform takedowns on enemy soldiers. Instead, Dani can instruct Chorizo to approach targets and distract them. The soldiers will then try to coerce Chorizo to pet him, allowing players to kill them stealthily. While some dogs would likely be disturbed by this action, Chorizo has no issues consistently ushering enemies to their deaths. His performance is Oscar-worthy, as the little dachshund puts on a nervous façade and bounces around on the rickety wheels of his wheelchair. Chorizo’s nervously wagging tail completes the trick, giving enemies something purely adorable to look at in their last moments.

Far Cry 6 Players Can Pet The Dog

Far Cry 6 Chorizo Pet

There are always significant levels of disappointment when games don’t allow players to pet virtual dogs. Thankfully, Far Cry 6 allows players to embrace this urge most adorably. Far Cry 6’s Amigo companions can all be interacted with, allowing players to pet everything from panthers to crocodiles, but Chorizo provides the most incredible experience for this mechanic. Chorizo’s adorable appearance often steals every scene he’s in, but he’s even cuter up close. Big, brown eyes filled with happiness occupy players’ screens along with the happy whines of a pleased pup. The pure serotonin this act brings even fills Dani with joy, as both the female and male versions frequently laugh or happily tell Chorizo what a good boy he is.

Far Cry 6 Lets Chorizo Smile At The Camera

Chorizo Photo Far Cry 6

Far Cry 6’s photo mode combined with the addition of Chorizo results in some of the cutest snapshots players may acquire in their digital lives. Though rebellions are messy, bloody, emotional affairs, taking a moment to admire the scenery with their companions can be a well-deserved break. While some photo modes, like Red Dead Redemption 2's, fail to give player characters company, Chorizo ensures Dani Rojas will never be alone. Players can snap beautiful landscape pictures of Yara’s war-torn world and take photos with their Amigos. DarkKnightTazze posted an example on Far Cry 6’s subreddit, proving how Chorizo can brighten up any day in Yara.

Far Cry 6 Is Filled With Dangers, And Chorizo Is Ready To Face Them

In a world as dangerous as Far Cry 6, both Dani Rojas and their companions must be ready to scare threats away or eliminate them. Chorizo has grown up around guerillas, and likely faced his fair share of threats before joining Dani and Libertad. While most dogs his size would run from a fight, Chorizo’s bravery knows no bounds. When faced with imminent threats, Chorizo can be seen and heard snarling and readying himself for battle. Unfortunately, his intimidation is sabotaged by both his size and endearing features. No matter how much anger appears in his big brown eyes or how sharp his teeth look, friends and foes alike can’t help but want to pet him all over.

While Chorizo is adorable, he’s not Far Cry 6’s only strength. There are many other adorable actions Chorizo performs throughout Far Cry 6's story and beyond, and players are encouraged to seek them all out. Despite the game’s many flaws, there are plenty of activities and features to enjoy throughout Yara, made all the better with an animal companion like Chorizo.
