A brand new Fantastic Mr. Fox trailer has been released, and it looks great! In case you were complaining about the last one, this feels like a "real" movie trailer. There's also a new featurette about the film and both are getting me more excited about the upcoming movie!
The new preview features a whole lot more information about the story, which is based on Roald Dahl's classic tale that co-writer/director Wes Anderson (Rushmore) fell in love with as a kid. It gives us even more funny and touching moments than the first Fantastic Mr. Fox trailer.
Watch and enjoy:
There's also a few more of Anderson's trademark directorial touches, like the diagram explaining how "Whack Bat" works as Owen Wilson (Coach Skip) talks. All in all, a great second trailer with plenty of laughs that I think will send people to theaters when it opens in November.
It's about how the filmmakers incorporated the world of Mr. Fox and the real-life "Gypsy House" owned by Dahl, which is in the countryside in Buckinghamshire, England. Anderson stayed there while writing the script with Noah Baumbach (The Squid and The Whale). I really enjoyed seeing Anderson use so much of Dahl's life in the film, and it's making me appreciate the film that much more, even without seeing it.
So what do you think of this new trailer for Fantastic Mr. Fox? I think it's much better than the first (I did like that one, too). What about the new featurette, "The World of Roald Dahl?"
Fantastic Mr. Fox, starring George Clooney and Meryl Streep, opens November 13, 2009.
