John Krasinski becomes Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic in super-realistic Fantastic Four fan art. Ever since news broke out that Fox's Marvel character library is going back to Marvel Studios, fans have been eagerly anticipating what Kevin Feige and his team's plan is for Marvel's first family. Now that it's confirmed they're going to be rebooted via a new film from Spider-Man: No Way Home director, Jon Watts, the public has been suggesting who might play the iconic superhero team in the MCU.

It's no secret that Krasinski is the fan-favorite pick to play Richards in the upcoming Fantastic Four film, with his real-life wife, Emily Blunt, proposed to portray Sue Storm. The pair has been asked multiple times about the possibility, but they've always been coy with their answers, maintaining that they haven't been approached for the role. Despite this, rumors, which are further motivated by the public's eagerness to see them in the aforementioned roles, continue to persist. These speculations have also been the subject of countless fan-made content, including this one.

While the film is officially confirmed, there's very little known about the MCU's Fantastic Four reboot thus far. The project remains undated, which means that it might not come out until 2024 at the earliest. That said, a recent update suggests that it could come sooner than later as Fantastic Four is scheduled to be Watts' next project after Spider-Man: No Way Home. No word about it from Marvel Studios, but if this is indeed the case, casting for the film could begin sometime soon. For what it's worth, Feige did previously say that they have a lot of news coming in the next few months, they're just waiting for the right venue to announce them. So, it's possible that more details about Fantastic Four are coming in the foreseeable future.

Whether or not Krasinski will ultimately play Reed Richards in Fantastic Four is unknown. Marvel Studios has made a name for itself for making unexpected choices when it comes to their casting, and for the most part, their risks have paid off. Given this, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that they would subvert people's expectations by not hiring Krasinski for the role. However, considering how much fans have wanted him and Blunt to play Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman, not locking them as the said heroes could result in major backlash.
