Tim Story, the director of the 2005 Fantastic Four and its 2007 sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, is excited to see Marvel Studios' take on Galactus. Tim Story has directed numerous films over his career, including Barbershop, Think Like a Man, and is currently promoting his latest film, Tom & Jerry, which just opened in theaters and on HBO Max. Story's Fantastic Four movies were a mixed bag for critics and audiences, with one of the biggest disappointments being how Galactus was realized as a giant cloud.

After Tim Story's two Fantastic Four films, 20th Century Fox rebooted the property in 2015 and was a box-office and critical disaster. Marvel Studios recently announced they are making their own Fantastic Four film with Spider-Man: No Way Home director, Jon Watts, at the helm. Marvel Studios has recently started meeting with writers for the film, and while fans speculate if the Fantastic Four will appear in another MCU property first, Tim Story is excited about the prospect of seeing Galactus realized properly on the big screen.

In an interview with DesdeHollywood, Story expressed his excitement about Marvel Studios reimagining Galactus into a more comic-accurate looking design. Tim Story stated how certain individuals behind the scenes of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer were not comfortable realizing Galactus in his proper form. Tim Story expressed his excitement by saying, "What I am so looking forward to is when they [Marvel Studios] get their hands on Galactus and show Galactus, I can't wait. I can't wait."

Cloud form of Galactus in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer

Tim Story has stated his love for the Fantastic Four comics in the past and was one of the reasons he directed the 2005 film and its sequel. He has gone on record before, saying how 20th Century Fox was hesitant on Galactus' appearance in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Story decided to visualize the character as the cloud, later stating that whatever director signed on for the then-in-development Silver Surfer spin-off film would be able to realize Galactus in their own way. Yet, that film never panned out, and so far, the cloud is the only live-action incarnation of Galactus on the big screen.

While Galactus currently is not set for any Marvel Studios appearance, the fact that Marvel Studios now is developing a Fantastic Four film seems like the chances are even more likely he will show up in a film. Many suspect him to be the ideal Phase 4 villain, after Thanos. With Marvel Studios exploring more cosmic stories in EternalsGuardians of the Galaxy Vol 3., Captain Marvel 2, and Thor: Love and Thunder, there is a good chance the devourer of worlds could show up in one of those films even before a Fantastic Four film.
