Just when many thought the Harry Potter film franchise had come to a close, Warner Bros. and J.K. Rowling joined forces to create a new five-film series focusing on magizoologist Newt ScamanderFantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them may not have exploded the way everything else related to the Wizarding World has, but it proved a strong success at the box office and gave WB the confidence to keep moving forward with their plans. Though the upcoming sequel is said to focus less on Newt and more on the infamous battle between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, the presence of Zoe Kravitz as Newt's love interest Leta Lestrange means he'll still factor heavily into the story.

Meanwhile, the film has renewed interest in the book Rowling wrote that the movie is loosely based upon, as an upcoming expanded addition is going to be released. That's good news, as fans are hungry for more from this period in Wizarding history. As for the movie's sequel, there's already been a few rumors as to what the plot will entail, and there's a lot of things we're hoping to see. Unfortunately, we'll have to wait until next year to see the film, but that doesn't mean we can't relive the first one.

Coming Soon is reporting that Fantastic Beasts will be releasing both digitally and on Blu-ray in March, and it's packed full of bonus features and heaps of information about Rowling's Wizarding World. Among the extra features, there will be a short documentary following Rowling, director David Yates, and producer David Heyman as they discuss expanding the lore of Harry Potter. Given Yates has directed every film since Order of the Phoenix and Heyman has produced every Potter movie to date, they're likely to have some key insight.

The Blu-ray will also feature a number of deleted scenes, multiple 360 degree views of various film locations, like MACUSA and the Blind Pig, and will provide details about the main characters and creatures. There's featurettes on the Goldstein's, the New Salemers, and the President of MACUSA. You can also learn more about the film's titular fantastic beasts, like the Thunderbird, the Erumpent, and the adorable Niffler. Even after you've burned through all of these, it won't be long until more Harry Potter content arrives.

The Cursed Child is set to come Stateside soon, but sadly the rumors of a film based on the play have been shot down by Rowling. Still, that hasn't stopped us from dreamcasting a possible movie based on the stage show, as we're nothing if not dreamers. We'll make sure to bring you all the news regarding the Wizarding World as it emerges, so stay tuned.
