Warner Bros. unveils new Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore character posters highlighting new and returning Harry Potter characters. The third installment in the Harry Potter prequel franchise picks up in the 1930s and explores the events leading up to the Wizarding World's involvement in World War II as Gellert Grindelwald's power continues to rapidly grow. In an effort to try and restore peace, Albus Dumbledore builds a team of those he can trust led by Newt Scamander in an effort to stop Grindelwald's campaign, though also grapples with his decision to stay on the sidelines.

Eddie Redmayne and Jude Law return to lead the cast of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore as Newt and the titular Hogwarts professor alongside Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams and Katherine Waterston. The threequel also marks the franchise introduction of Mads Mikkelsen as Grindelwald, taking over the role from Johnny Depp after he was asked to step down due to his court battle against ex-wife Amber Heard. Following multiple COVID-19-related delays and the recasting, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is now gearing up to hit theaters in April.

For those who have fallen in love with the prequel franchise in its first two films, the new Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore character posters should be an exciting reveal. The new key art also serves as a nice reminder of where the line has been drawn and who stands on either side of it, namely that of Alison Sudol's Queenie, who elected to leave behind her sister Tina and lover Jacob after having been convinced by Grindelwald he could make her dreams of marrying Jacob come true. Interestingly, the collection of new character posters are missing that of Katherine Waterston's Tina, who is confirmed to be returning for the film.

As with the previous poster for the film, the new Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore character posters sees both sides of the Wizarding World subtly building the shape of a phoenix. In J.K. Rowling's novels, Dumbledore's Patronus was that of a phoenix while the future Hogwarts headmaster also had one as a pet named Fawkes, and given the new film will shine a bigger emphasis on Law's incarnation of the character, it's understandable the phoenix has served as a bit of recurrent imagery for its marketing. The wait for the film is nearly over as Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore hits theaters on April 15.
