New photos for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald feature Eddie Redmayne's Newt Scamander looking frightened in the sewer and a set photo of actors Redmayne and Jude Law, as a young Dumbledore, hanging out on set. He's traded wizard robes in for Muggle clothes, and he really looks great.

The Crimes of Grindelwald follows the events of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and is the second installment in a five-part series that serves as part prequel and part continuation of the Harry Potter universe. Crimes of Grindelwald takes place in Paris, following Scamander as he teams up with Albus Dumbledore to hunt down the evil wizard Gellert Grindelwald, played by the shape-shifting Johnny Depp.

Director David Yates told EW that “The first film had a level of whimsy; the characters felt like children in grown-up bodies. In this movie, it gets grittier and more nuanced and detailed. It’s quite a romantic film, it’s a thriller, it’s quite an interesting combination of genres you rarely see together. I think it will surprise people.” The site also published the aforementioned photos for The Crimes of Grindelwald, which you can check out below:

For those unfamiliar, Grindelwald is an incredibly dangerous Dark wizard, second only to Voldemort, and a former friend of Albus Dumbledore. At one point, they both envisioned a world where wizards would rule over the Muggle-world, for a perceived greater good. After an altercation between Dumbledore and Grindelwald that left Dumbledore's younger sister dead, Grindelwald fled and took a turn to the evil side. J.K. Rowling (who is writing all of the Fantastic Beasts movies) has hinted in the past at the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindelwald as being complicatedly romantic, a love that isn't reciprocated by Grindelwald. That should make a fascinating dynamic between the characters in The Crimes of Grindelwald, as fans see this relationship on-screen for the first time.

Jude Law isn't the only fresh face (but familiar character) coming into this series in the Fantastic Beasts sequel. Zoe Kravitz will also appear as Leta Lestrange (the of ancestor of Bellatrix Lestrange), an ex-love interest for Scamander, along with Callum Turner as Thesus Scamander, Newt's bother. Elsewhere, the list of returning players from the first Fantastic Beasts movie includes Katherine Waterson as Tina Goldstein, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, and Ezra Miller as Credence Barebone.
