The Kardashians season 2 is over, but after Kim Kardashian asked for fans' input going into the next season, they slammed the Hulu show for flatlining. Last season showcased Travis Barker and Kourtney Kardashian's wedding planning, some Khloé Kardashian baby drama, Kris Jenner's hip replacement, Kylie Jenner's postpartum depression, and Kim's Met Ball negotiations with Ripley's Believe It Or Not. More than anything, both seasons of The Kardashians focus on the family's work life.
The Kardashians didn't get famous for their glam squads or their work ethic, though they are essential parts of the equation. Their unapologetic and unfiltered personalities captured fans' hearts on Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Now The Kardashians on Hulu feels inauthentic. This lead to real and often messy storylines. When Kim asked what fans wanted, Princess Zuznaizza from Twitter answered, "Drama Kimberly !!! I wanna see more of what we got in the early seasons of KUWTK. You guys were so authentic and we could connect to you guys. This new show feels like a YouTube vlog, it just doesn't feel authentic. Everything seems so controlled." While still on E!, KUWTK was already moving in that direction. With Disney at the helm, it's no surprise The Kardashians is all about a classy veneer of perfection, but it's dull. If the family is unwilling to share anything real or potentially reputation damning, they shouldn't keep filming.
The Kardashians Is Inferior To KUWTK
Back in the day, there was Scott Disick, whose future on Kardashians is uncertain, and the evolution from being entitled to a hilarious and devoted father, Kourtney's dabbling in the lady pond, Khloé's mug shot, Kim's obsession with fame and fortune, and Kris's momager mayhem. Then there were the highs and lows of everyone's romantic relationships, including Rob Kardashian. Now nothing real, beyond Khloé's self-worth journey, plays out on screen. Toni from Twitter noted, "You completely edited out all the important topics. What happened with: Astroworld? Travis cheating ? Kanye? Caitlin? Khloé's excessive Facetune, Kourtney's wedding, Met ball etc. was boring we don't care. We still don't even know Khloe/Kylies sons names. Show us all or nothing!" At this point, The Kardashians is barely an extension of the women's Instagram posts. As Twitter user, Miss Petty Lamar said, "The show feels like an infomercial."
Alienating Scott Disick On The Kardashians Was A Bad Business Decision
While characters like Caitlyn Jenner and Rob Kardashian are sorely missed, fans Scott to return for The Kardashians season 3. Miss Petty Lamar added in all caps in that same tweet, "OH AND BRING SCOTT BACK!" Disney has less respect for Scott than NBCU, as indicated by early contract negotiations. Disney likely aims to distance itself from Scott's controversial history. However, anyone who's been a longtime fan of the show knows Scott's journey from villain to hero is the heart and soul of KUWTK. His honesty and humor carried KUWTK now that his absence is so glaring. Twitter user OG cemented, "WE WANT MORE SCOTT DISICK."
The Kardashians Are All Work & No Play
The Kardashian's production team forgot that KUWTK was an unruly sitcom full of provocative escapism. The strongest episodes were when there was a combination of family banter, actual conflict, honest personal growth, and gorgeous California backdrops. The Kardashians abandoned KUWTK storylines. The cold environment of fashion designer racks and modern furniture combined with lifeless interview monologues isn't it. If The Kardashians are tired of sharing their personal lives, they shouldn't be on reality TV. Fans can get recaps of fashion shows, business launches, and pop news talking points on YouTube, not from the royal family of reality TV.
