Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 6 premiered on Thursday, January 27, and longtime fans have mixed emotions about the new season. Six years after the original Jersey Shore series came to an end, the eight original roommates reunited, so they could film together again. While some of the "roomies" stayed in touch in between the two series, others had not talked since filming concluded. The only original roommate to not return for the spinoff series was Sammi "Sweetheart" Giancola.

Almost all the Jersey Shore season 6 celebs now have kids of their own. For that reason, the spinoff series is quite different from the original show. Unlike the OG series, where the roommates would film for a month straight, the group of friends now films for short periods of time. The cast members take short vacations together, with a camera crew in tow. Therefore, the season is typically made up of multiple short trips. The stars also tend to bring their spouses and kids along. In addition to this, the season is also made up of segments from the roommates' day-to-day life.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation Season 6 Is Dividing Fans So Far

Although only one episode of the new season has aired so far, fans are already expressing their mixed emotions about Jersey Shore: Family Vacation season 6. In a Reddit thread started by jessicamarie5678, where the premiere episode was discussed, fans shared their mixed opinions on the latest episode, and the series as a whole. One user admitted that they were torn on whether to watch the season. Despite seeing every episode of both shows, they feel as though the spinoff is not what it once was. One user added, "It’s definitely not as good as it used to be" while another person noted, "they are very scripted."

On the other hand, many viewers still really enjoy the show. Despite no longer constantly partying while filming, the cast still manages to bring the humor and fun to each episode. While a majority of the comedy comes from Angelina Pivarnick, each roommate adds something special to the show. In addition to this, certain aspects of the series portray how relatable the roommates actually are. For instance, many viewers related to Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his wife Lauren Sorrentino's heartbreak after losing their dog Mosey during the premiere episode. As the group has matured and grown older, the show has become more relatable to viewers.

While the argument may be made that it is time for the show to come to an end for good, that day will not be coming any time soon. It was previously confirmed by the cast that Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has already been renewed for multiple more seasons. Despite losing viewership from some fans who feel the show has become too scripted and somewhat boring, there are also committed longtime viewers that still enjoy tuning in to watch the roommates' crazy drama unfold each and every Jerz-day.
