Hulu's new reality competition show, Claim to Fame, has a unique concept but has been called desperate by fans. The show will pit 12 competitors against each other, and the last one standing wins $100,000. The unusual twist is that the cast is made up of people who are related to celebrities. Whether they are cousins, sisters, or nephews, all the cast members have some sort of relationship with a famous household name.

Claim to Fame requires the cast to keep the secret of who their celebrity relative is, all while playing detective and trying to figure out who the rest of the cast is related to. The producers of Netflix's Love is Blind are back with another series, with contestants interacting with each other while having no idea who their celebrity relative is. The producers went from a dating show where the cast falls in love without seeing their partner's face to now sleuthing celebrity relatives.

Claim to Fame gives the cast a chance to show themselves to the world outside of their famous relative; however, some fans have been calling the show desperate. The reason why many viewers are calling the series desperate is because of their famous relatives. To some extent, all these contestants have lived in the shadows of a celebrity, living their lives always being asked about them. While Claim to Fame is their chance to shine, the show still revolves around their famous family member. Claim to Fame is hosted by Kevin Jonas from the Jonas Brothers and his younger brother Frankie Jonas. Frankie, especially, is the most qualified for the job since he is not as well known as his famous brothers. Frankie knows what it is like to live in the shadows of his older brothers, Kevin, Joe, and Nick Jonas.

Amara Claim to Fame

As an ice breaker on the Claim to Fame premiere, each contestant played two truths and a lie with facts about themselves and their famous family member. Some of the cast members' relatives are revealed in the premiere, such as Amara being Whoopi Goldberg's granddaughter and Adria "Louise" being Simone Biles' sister. The group lives in a house together, similar to Big Brother, and they find ways to secretly discover who each person is related to.

Claim to Fame wants to separate the cast from their famous relatives, and yet, the entire show revolves around celebrities, adding the desperation that makes fans feel bad for them. However, viewers are still enjoying the fun challenges and eliminations each week that keeps fans guessing. If the first Claim to Fame elimination is any indication, as someone was kicked off for breaking the rules, there's still a ton of drama to come from the competition.
