Here's a rundown of the movies and TV shows expected to unveil footage and/or trailers at DC FanDome. With the ongoing coronavirus pandemic making public gatherings like fan conventions a no-go, companies have been forced to get creative in order to promote their upcoming projects. Near the end of July, Comic-Con hosted an online version of its annual San Diego convention (Comic-Con@Home), with panels highlighting various films and TV series on the horizon. However, DC elected to skip the event in favor of hosting its own virtual convention, DC FanDome.

Originally planned as a 24-hour virtual convention, DC FanDome has since been divided into two events and will feature more than 300 guests, including actors, writers, and directors from the next wave of DCEU movies, as well as the many ongoing live-action and cartoon DC TV shows (like The CW's Arrowverse series). The first of these events, DC FanDome: Hall of Heroes, will take place on Saturday, August 22 as previously-scheduled and focus primarily on the upcoming DCEU films. After that, a second installment titled DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse will take place on Saturday, September 12 and shift its attention over onto DC's TV series.

Since the majority of films and TV shows that were in-production prior to the coronavirus lockdowns have yet to resume filming, a number of the titles presenting at DC FanDome simply won't have new footage to show off during their panels. With that being said, here's a breakdown of the movies and TV properties that should have something to show off (be it a proper trailer or the next best thing).

Wonder Woman 1984

Gal Gadot as Diana Prince in Wonder Woman 1984

Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman 1984 has already been delayed a few times (both before and after the COVID-19 lockdowns), and it may have to vacate its current release date on October 2, 2020 in the future. That aside, the movie's new trailer was officially rated this week, so it's fair to assume the plan is to unveil it during the Wonder Woman 1984 panel at DC FanDome. Presumably, the preview will offer a sneak peek at Barbara Ann Minerva (Kristen Wiig) in her full Cheetah form, while at the same time revealing more about Maxwell Lord's (Pedro Pascal) evil plans in the film. Not so coincidentally, Wiig and Pascal will join Jenkins, Gal Gadot, and Chris Pine as guests during the movie's panel, which starts at 1 pm EST on August 22 (e.g. the same day as the other film panels mentioned below).

Zack Snyder's Justice League

After years of fan campaigning, the Zack Snyder cut of Justice League is finally happening and will stream on HBO Max, beginning in 2021. Ahead of its DC FanDome panel (which will start at 5:45 pm EST), Snyder has been releasing images online teasing different elements of the movie, ranging from Steppenwolf's new design to the Hall of Justice and Diana Prince's secret life. The director is confirmed to appear as part of the panel and it's expected he'll be bringing the first full-length trailer with him. He may also use the occasion to announce the official release date, format (read: whether it'll be a single movie or mini-series), and possibly confirm the official official title.

The Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad 2 Every Character Returning In James Gunn’s DC Sequel

James Gunn's (loose) sequel The Suicide Squad finished production prior to the COVID-19 lockdowns, meaning it ought to have something to show when its DC FanDome panel begins at 3 pm EST. Gunn has already confirmed the panel will provide a "glimpse" of the movie, though it probably won't be an official trailer since 1) Nothing's been rated and 2) The film doesn't actually open until August 2021, so it's a bit early for that. Otherwise, the panel will have the writer-director and his cast participating in a “Squad Showdown” that tests their Suicide Squad knowledge, and may confirm the identities of a few of the DCEU newcomers in the movie.

The Batman

Although it began shooting earlier this year, Matt Reeves' The Batman had only finished 25 percent of its production when the coronavirus shut-downs went into effect. Still, the movie's panel (which Reeves will lead) is confirmed to include "a surprise or two" when it closes out the "Hall of Heroes" at DC FanDome at 8:30 pm EST. That could take on the form of a teaser trailer (composed of whatever material has been shot) or test footage similar to the Batman costume reveal video Reeves posted back in February. With Robert Pattinson's Batsuit having already been unveiled, the hope is Zoë Kravitz's Catwoman outfit will be the costume granted the spotlight next.

Black Adam

Black Adam Dwayne The Rock Johnson

In a surprising announcement on social media near the beginning of August, Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson posted a video teasing his look as the DC antihero, and hinted at more to come at DC FanDome proper. There won't be any actual footage at the panel (which begins at 6 pm EST) since production hasn't started yet, but it appears there will be some type of first-look video composed of footage intended for promotional purposes only. In addition, Johnson may or may not use the panel to confirm Noah Centineo (To All the Boys I've Loved Before) is playing JSA member Atom Smasher, as was reported back in mid-July.

The Arrowverse

The CW's Arrowverse TV shows (The Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Black Lightning) have yet to begin shooting their next seasons following the COVID-19 closures in March. Nevertheless, most of them will have a panel at DC FanDome: Explore the Multiverse as part of the WatchVerse section, with the exception of Supergirl. That includes the Superman & Lois TV series, which is slated to premiere in 2021. And while there could be some important casting announcements at the panels, there naturally won't be much in the way of footage, save for a potential trailer for The Flash season 7 (teasing the payoffs to season 6's various cliffhanger endings).

Which DC Movies & TV Shows WON'T Have New Footage

Michael Keaton as Batman and Ezra Miller as Flash

Following Black Adam in December 2021, there are three live-action DCEU movies (The Flash, Shazam 2, Aquaman 2) tentatively scheduled to arrive in 2022. Of them, only The Flash will have its own panel during DC FanDome, with director Andy Muschietti, producer Barbara Muschietti, writer Christina Hodson, and star Ezra Miller all confirmed to appear. Titled "Introducing The Flash", the panel will begin at 2:45 pm EST and may include concept art and/or confirmation that Michael Keaton is reprising his role as Batman (even if Keaton doesn't show up himself). Meanwhile, Shazam and Aquaman will also have panels, both of which may provide some details about their upcoming sequels. Of course, none of the 2022 DCEU movies are anywhere near to starting production, so there shouldn't be any footage to speak of.

On the TV side, the Titans panel won't included any footage either, what with production on season 3 having been delayed by the COVID-19 closures. Elsewhere, the DC FanDome guest list includes Harley Quinn star Kaley Cuoco, which has led many to wonder if DC will use the convention to announce the show's renewal for season 3 on HBO Max (where seasons 1 and 2 began streaming earlier this month). Finally, there may be a few surprises when it comes to both DC's movies and TV series (see also: Val Kilmer's scheduled appearance and rumors of a Batman Forever Schumacher Cut announcement), so watch this space for additional updates later this week.
