Road To X is a series of Family Guy episodes that revolve around Stewie and Brian going on crazy adventures to different countries, time-periods, or universes. And some of them are among the greatest episodes that the adult animated comedy has to offer.

The whole series is an homage to Bob Hope and Bing Crosby's old Road To... movies. As such, the episodes usually feature elaborate musical numbers, just like the movies did. They also all include unique title sequences that differ greatly from Family Guy's signature opening.

There have been eight of these episodes so far, that all vary in quality. IMDb reviewers certainly have their favorites.

Road To India - 7.1

In the most recent Road To X episode, Brian falls for a tech support agent, Padma. The two hit it off so well that he decides to travel to India to meet her, and Stewie goes with him. Although, once they get to the country, problems start to arise.

It's a pretty average episode by Family Guy standards. There are some funny jokes, but Stewie and Brian's adventures tend to be more elaborate and exciting. The trip to India feels basic by comparison. At least the final Bollywood style musical number delivers some hilarity.

Roads To Vegas - 7.8

To attend a Celine Dion concert in Las Vegas, Stewie tries to use his teleportation machine to transport him and Brian straight there. It doesn't work perfectly, though. Instead, unbeknownst to them, it creates an alternate version of the baby and dog duo. Viewers then fellow both pairs, one of which is incredibly lucky, while the other is the opposite.

It's an intriguing premise that works really well and keeps viewers guessing how it'll all end. Yet, the episode is a little lacking in the humor department, especially for a Brian and Stewie episode.

Road To Rupert - 7.9

Stewie and Brian's adventures often work better when they're the sole focus of the episode as it gives the plot time to truly spiral out of control. Unfortunately, in "Road To Rupert," their journey has to share screen time with an admittedly humorous Peter and Meg subplot.

The main narrative starts with Brian mistakenly selling Stewie's favorite bear, Rupert, at a garage sale. Coincidentally, the person he sold it too immediately moves to Aspen, which forces Stewie and Brian to go on a perilous journey to get the bear back. It's a funny episode, but it needs even more of the main duo's hijinks.

Road To Europe - 7.9

Tired of his current surroundings, Stewie attempts to travel to London to live on Jolly Tree Farm (a TV show he likes). Brian chases after him, but they both accidentally get stuck on a flight heading to Saudi Arabia, not England. They then need to find their way to London or back home.

Its a really fun watch with plenty of great gags and references. Unfortunately, the subplot of Peter and Lois being KISS fans is only average and hurts the quality of the whole episode.

Road To Germany - 8.1

"Road To Germany" contains one of Stewie and Brian's most exciting adventures as they go back in time to World War II. It begins with Mort Goldman somehow mistaking Stewie's time machine for a portable toilet. His attempts to relieve himself leads to him being sent back to the day that the Nazis invaded Poland. To bring him back, Stewie and Brian have to go in after him.

While the inclusion of Mort could've hurt Stewie and Brian's dynamic, it didn't. In fact, Goldman is really funny in the episode and meshes surprisingly well with one of the best tandems in the show.

Road To Rhode Island - 8.3

The inaugural Road To X episode was the first time fans truly got to witness the brilliant chemistry between Stewie and Brian. And despite the episode not having the ambition of some of the later ones, it still holds up really well.

Brian tries to pick up Stewie from his grandparents' house in Palm Springs and bring the kid back home. Yet, he loses the pair's plane tickets making the journey a lot more difficult. As they try to find other ways to get back, they stop at Brian's birthplace, which leads to a rare tearjerking scene.

Road To The North Pole - 8.3

This Christmas romp might lack festive cheer, but it's genuinely one of the funniest Stewie and Brian episodes. Not the mention one of the most musically impressive, as the songs are a perfect blend of comical and catchy.

It all comes about when Stewie gets the brush-off from a mall Santa. In retaliation, the baby wants to go to the North Pole and murder Old Saint Nick. And Brian is forced to join him on the treacherous journey to Santa's workshop. Yet what they find at their destination isn't what they expect.

Road To The Multiverse - 9.1

"Road To The Multiverse" is easily the most beloved Stewie and Brian adventure ever. It all starts with the genius baby showing off a remote control that he invented that lets the user travel to different parallel universes. He and Brian then start jumping between a bunch of different worlds.

Each universe is so cleverly designed. Some are simple, like the one that contains one guy who shouts compliments, whereas others are more complex such as the full parody of classical Disney movies. The different art styles plus the unique story make it one of the most creative Family Guy episodes of all time. And it still retains the show's signature brand of humor too.
