Chantel Everett, the star of TLC's The Family Chantel, recently opened up about being a fan of 90 Day Fiancé, of which her new series is a spinoff, before ever starring on the show. This might explain why she's so good at bringing the drama.

Chantel and her husband Pedro Jimeno, who is originally from the Dominican Republic, first appeared during Season 4 of 90 Day Fiancé - a reality show that follows couples during the 90-day K-1 visa process, during which time they must wed or risk deportation. The couple struggled to get along with one another and to convince their families - who adamantly disapprove of the relationship - that their marriage would last. So far, to the shock of many, it has. Once getting married, Chantel and Pedro were featured on a spinoff series, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, and now they have their own show, The Family Chantel, which follows their lives and the lives of their very eccentric family members. As it turns out, Chantel has been a fan of 90 Day Fiancé since the beginning.

In an interview with E! News, Chantel revealed she was a fan of 90 Day Fiancé before ever appearing on the show. She said, "I used to watch 90 Day Fiancé while Pedro and I were dating and early in our engagement." She also went on to explain her motives behind going on the show, saying, "I really wanted to a part of the show, because I wanted to show everybody how perfect I thought our relationship was." However, living through the experience made her realize that "there's no such thing as a perfect relationship." That's when Pedro made a joke in the interview about how Chantel's family is the reason they're not perfect and the host warned him he was about to "start something." Luckily, Chantel didn't strike back.

Chantel and Pedro agreed that audiences love 90 Day Fiancé because it's "relatable," and Pedro added that falling in love transcends the "barriers" of language and culture and appeals to everyone. Also in that same interview, the couple revealed a little more about the new season of The Family Chantel. Chantel said that she and her husband "disagree on a lot" and that fans would get to see that play out on the show. When asked how things are between the couple, they didn't reply. Instead, they just turned and looked at each other, which might suggest that there are some problems.

As a big fan 90 Day Fiancé, Chantel is living her dream right now with her own spinoff series. She's clearly learned a lot from years of watching reality TV because viewers can't seem to get enough of her tumultuous marriage and over-the-top family drama. And, given Chantel and Pedro's history (and the fact that Chantel's mom likes to carry around a taser), this latest season of The Family Chantel will no doubt bring plenty more drama.
