TLC's The Family Chantel has introduced many significant others who experienced the heat of the Everett family, but River Everett's new girlfriend Megan is being called out by doubtful fans as well. The 23-year-old brother of series star Chantel Jimeno, née Everett, revealed he has been seeing blonde beauty Megan despite their age gap and several hours between their homes. However, The Family Chantel fans continue to speculate that Megan is not truly into River and is instead using him for fame.
The past several seasons of The Family Chantel has seen the Everett family scrutinize Chantel's relationship with her now-husband Pedro Jimeno, eldest brother Royal Everett's relationship with his now-wife Angenette, and younger sister Winter Everett's relationship with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Jah. Now, the youngest Everett sibling River has revealed he is dating 28-year-old Kentucky beauty Megan. River penned his popular song "Kentucky Vibes" about Megan, who is five years his senior and lives four hours away from his home in Savannah, Georgia. Though River appears smitten with his new girlfriend, The Family Chantel viewers have uncovered suspicious comments Megan left on another man's Instagram. Many viewers don't think Megan is dating River for the right reasons.
Fan Instagram account @90dayfiancenow shared a video of River and Megan taken over the weekend that River originally posted to his Instagram, @iamriverknight. The clip showed River and Megan posing together on the sidewalk. “River and his girlfriend in Kentucky! ♥️,” the fan account captioned the video, which saw Megan dressed entirely in black leather while River opted to wear sunglasses and a white jacket with his jeans. Commenters were quick to call out Megan for her body language, as many thought it indicated she was not into her boyfriend. "I like River but this girls body language does not🙁," one top commenter wrote. "Girlfriend, that haven't even kissed lol. Her body language, says um nope. 😂," another popular comment reads. "Body language speaks volumes; she does not like him," yet another fan observed.
Many The Family Chantel viewers speculated that Megan is using River for fame since he has appeared on TLC for several seasons of 90 Day Fiancé franchise content and Megan is an aspiring singer and model. "She’s just there to be on tv and get discovered," one comment with hundreds of likes reads. "She want to be famous 😂😂," another popular commenter wrote. Many commenters also agreed Everett family matriarch Karen Everett will likely scare Megan away. "She's just there to be on TV! No worries though his Mother will run her off😂😂😂," one commenter wrote.
River is considered one of the more likable members of the Everett family, as many The Family Chantel viewers appreciate that River and his older sister Winter both mind their business far more than older sister Chantel and mother Karen. Winter and River have a close and supportive sibling relationship that sees River frequently commenting praise for his sister Winter and her weight loss journey. However, both River and Winter will be dealing with drama from their meddling mother on The Family Chantel season 3. Winter is having her relationship with Jah picked apart by Chantel and Winter, while River will likely introduce Megan to his meddlesome family sometime soon.
