Karen Everett is known for being Chantel Jimeno's outspoken and meddling mother on The Family Chantel, but many viewers are curious about what Karen does for a career. The Atlanta-based mother of four shares children: Royal, Chantel, Winter, and Riverknight with her beloved husband Thomas Everett. Discover what Karen does for a job and how the loud-mouthed mother and 90 Day Fiancé monster-in-law earns a living.

Karen has earned a reputation in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise for being a mother-in-law who is a nightmare to deal with. Karen and Thomas initially made things notoriously difficult for Chantel's now-husband Pedro Jimeno when the Dominican Republic native planned to first marry Chantel. Karen then turned her skepticism to her son Royal's now-wife Angenette. Though Karen has been slammed for her chronically meddling and interfering behavior, she did show maturity on the recent The Family Chantel season 3. Karen rallied behind Pedro when he dealt with family issues and showed that she is a loving parent despite not respecting boundaries.

In addition to appearing on The Family Chantel and 90 Day Fiancé thanks to her daughter Chantel, Karen has made appearances in other TLC shows. Karen also appeared alongside her family on 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined and 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Additionally, Karen has offered commentary on 90 Day Bares All and Pillow Talk alongside her youngest child Riverknight. In addition to appearing in several spin-off shows, Karen also had her own Facebook Watch show in 2020. The mother of Chantel hosted the show Ask Mama Chantel. According to Karen's Instagram, she also earns money through other ventures in addition to her reality TV career.

Karen lists herself as an "achievement ambassador," "famous published author," and "public speaker" on her Instagram, titles that she has stated for some time. A dive into Karen's alleged literary career includes her discussing a book series in 2019, though it is uncertain if Karen's series came to fruition. Karen said that her series is called EATE-TEAE, which is an acronym she said she developed for a successful life formula. Though Karen said that her "Evolve Adapt Transform Expand" method was truly transformative, she doesn't appear to have discussed it for the last few years. Karen also lists herself as a business owner, though many The Family Chantel fans remain in the dark when it comes to what business Karen and Thomas might own.

At the end of the day, a lot remains uncertain about what Chantel's mother Karen does for a living. Like her daughters Winter and Chantel, Karen is now also promoting some brands on social media. This move is sure to bring the Atlanta mother some more money, while she also is paid a salary for appearing on her family's spin-off show. However, the "normal" careers that Karen and Thomas have held outside of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise are still shrouded in mystery. If The Family Chantel is renewed for a fourth season, perhaps fans of Chantel and her family will finally receive more answers about what exactly Karen does for a living.
