There may be dozens of Fallout cosplays out there but the greatest one yet isn't even human. Dogmeat is a popular furry character in the post-apocalyptic series Fallout. The dog's first appearance was back in 1997 and has appeared in each main entry of the Fallout series. The first version of Dogmeat was inspired by the dogs from the films Mad Max 2 as well as A Boy and His Dog.

Eventually, Dogmeat became a more crucial character to gameplay in Fallout 3 since the dog would go out and collect important objects and then give them to the player. He appeared as a Blue Heeler in Fallout 3, but in the fourth game, a new Dogmeat was introduced as a German Shepherd. While previous versions of Dogmeat could die, that was not the case for Fallout 4. The dog has been a fan favorite character in the Fallout series, so it's no surprise that some people have gone as far as to dress up their own pets up as Dogmeat.

Posted by WexyLex on Imgur, this dog clearly resembles Dogmeat from Fallout 4. The dog's real name is Sarge; however, he can undeniably pull off the look of the famous dog. In the game, Dogmeat can be equipped with goggles, armor, and a headband - all of which WexyLex has provided his furry companion.

Fallout 4

With Fallout 76 recently being announced back in May, it has yet to be announced whether the new game will feature a new version of Dogmeat or another furry companion. A cyberdog named Rex was introduced in Fallout: New Vegas; however, Dogmeat is the preferred companion given his appearances in multiple Fallout games. That being said, Bethesda has announced that the game will not have NPC's (non-player characters), so the inclusion of Dogmeat seems unlikely.

Fallout 76 is currently in development and will be released this November. Even though the game is still a few months away, the Fallout 76 beta will launch in October, giving fans a taste of the game before it's given a wide release. This new game will be a prequel to the rest of the series, set 25 years after the nuclear war. While San Diego Comic-Con has come and gone, this dog owner has no doubt given fans of Fallout a cosplay idea to try out with their own loyal companions.
