Despite a rough initial launch, Fallout 76 has become a bit of a redemption story. While it initially took numerous major updates to fix bugs and improve performance issues, lately the game has been receiving substantial new content in addition to game improvements. Last year's major "Wastelanders" update proved to be a real game-changer, adding actual NPCs to Fallout 76 and at long last making it feel closer to a single-player Fallout title. Thanks to that update and the game's inclusion on Xbox Game Pass, it seems like plenty of new or returning players have been heading to the post-nuclear wasteland of West Virginia to experience what the current state of Fallout 76 has to offer. That offering is going to get even bigger this year, as Bethesda has just announced all the new content plans coming in 2021 for fans to look forward to.
There are four major updates planned, ranging from substantial new story content to improving many of the game's core features, such as the C.A.M.P. system. There will be new four new themed seasons as well. Players can expect the first of these updates soon, with one major update planned for spring.

New Content Coming To Fallout 76 In 2021
Fallout 76 will receive four major updates over the course of 2021. The first, set to release this spring, is described by Bethesda as the "Locked & Loaded" update. This update focuses more on bringing quality-of-life improvements to the game instead major new content, but it looks to be bringing some big changes players have been asking for. First and foremost are C.A.M.P. slots. At long last, players can have more than one C.A.M.P., a long requested feature that is finally making it into the game. While players can only have one active C.A.M.P. at a time, switching between C.A.M.P. locations is as easy as using the game's map. The spring update will also bring S.P.E.C.I.A.L. loadouts. This will allow players who have reached level 25 to have multiple builds for various situations. Last but not least, Fallout 76's Daily Ops feature will be receiving a major update as well, with new content and even a new game type called "Decryption."
In the summer is when things begin to heat up. Building off the game's previous "Steel Dawn" update, the final chapter of Fallout 76's Brotherhood of Steel storyline will be coming with the "Steel Reign" update. This update will add new story quests, NPCs, and locations, with Bethesda saying player choices will changes the face of the West Virginia wasteland. Players will also be able to start crafting specific legendary items using new legendary modules.
Fallout 76's fall 2021 update will bring yet another expansion to the Daily Ops mode, as well as the next "evolution" of private worlds. Unfortunately, few other details are given about what that will entail, so fans will have to wait for more information.
Dubbed "Tales from the Stars," the game's winter 2021 update will add a new public event for players to take part in titled "Invaders from Beyond." This event, which certainly sounds and looks like an alien-invasion, will see players teaming up to complete server-wide challenges, battle new enemies, and claim brand-new rewards. A new seasonal event, "The Ritual," will also become available, as will new four-star legendary weapons and armor.
Overall, the 2021 roadmap looks to have a little something for every kind of Fallout 76 player. Adding some long-requested features like multiple C.A.M.P.s and S.P.E.C.I.A.L. loadouts is a great way to please longtime players, while new story content and activities just might be enough to attract both new and lapsed players. Fallout 76 has made significant changes since launch, and judging from this roadmap, it looks like the improvements are only going to continue.
