Today, Bethesda Game Studios unveiled a roadmap that outlines all of the content coming to Fallout 76 throughout 2021. Fallout 76 got off to a rough start upon releasing in late 2018. Game-breaking glitches littered the experience, the content felt barebones at best, and Bethesda quickly found itself embroiled in controversy.

Fortunately, several major updates have improved the title over time. "Wild Appalachia" counts as the first of such updates; the March 2019 changes introduced a new series of quests, additional crafting systems, and multiple events. "Nuclear Winter" followed three months later, giving players access to a new way of experiencing the wasteland's many adventures. Four other major updates have gone live in the nearly two years since then, with "Wastelanders" representing the most notable of the bunch since it debuted a reworked quest structure and full dialogue system. Four more big patches are targeted for a 2021 release, the first of which arrives next month as "Locked and Loaded."

Revealed in a Bethesda.net post, the 2021 content roadmap for Fallout 76 outlines four separate updates set to roll out this year. The spring update, "Locked and Loaded," will introduce C.A.M.P. Slots, S.P.E.C.I.A.L. Loadouts, Mannequins, and a new Daily Ops Expansion. Console aim and crafting sliders are in the works for this season of content, too. This summer will usher in The Brotherhood arc's conclusion with the advent of "Steel Reign," an update that's also unleashing new locations, NPCs, quests, and rewards.

Details are scarce with regards to the content coming in the fall, but Bethesda says players can expect to see the "next evolution of private worlds," alongside Daily Ops Expansion II. The winter update will mark the final one this year as Bethesda plans to deploy four-star Legendary weapons and armor, The Ritual seasonal event, public challenges, Daily Ops surprises, and C.A.M.P. Pets. Fans can find out more about all of the above tomorrow, March 23, during a Reddit AMA that's scheduled to last from 11:00am to 1:30pm EST.

It seems that fans who worried over whether Bethesda would soon abandon Fallout 76 need not worry any longer. The aforementioned updates all appear major in their own right, though the conclusion of The Brotherhood arc and the advent of C.A.M.P. Pets may prove the most transformative.

Luckily, players don't have too long to wait for the first batch of new content. "Locked and Loaded" will launch late next month, giving active and lapsed players plenty of reasons to once more log into the online-centric Fallout title.
