A massive Fallout 4 mod titled Fallout: London features voice work by Doctor Who alumni Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker. Bethesda Game Studios' post-nuclear role-playing game takes players to The Commonwealth, a region formerly known as Boston, Massachusetts. Many fan-made mods take players to other locations, however, with one fan-made Fallout 4 mod taking players to an expansive new region called Northern Springs.

Since the franchise's inception, Fallout has always been about exploring the ruins of America following a devastating nuclear war. The first two games bring players to the West Coast, specifically Southern California, while Bethesda's Fallout 3 brought players to the scorched landmarks of Washington D.C. Fallout: New Vegas encompasses the desert region where Las Vegas once stood, while Fallout 4's Boston setting and Fallout 76's map of the Appalachian mountains portrayed even more ruined U.S. landmarks. Despite the franchise's focus on America, fan-made mods are able to break this mold. For example, a Fallout 4 mod set in London revealed back in June 2021 looks poised to portray a new post-apocalyptic continent.

An impressive gameplay trailer for Fallout: London, posted to YouTube, shows off a gorgeous new environment and features voice work from beloved Doctor Who actors. Colin Baker portrayed the Sixth Doctor on the long-running sci-fi series, while Sylvester McCoy served as his successor the Seventh Doctor. In Fallout: London the performers portray a pair of mysterious scientists who arrive to welcome the player into the DLC-sized experience. After character customization the gameplay trailer shows the player character escape from an underground bunker and hop on a train to get a view of the gorgeous bombed-out London skyline.

While Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy's appearance in Fallout: London may be surprising, the enduring popularity of Doctor Who has resulted in many video game crossovers. A Doctor Who island in Fortnite, for example, lets players battle Daleks and repair the TARDIS within Epic Games' beloved battle royale shooter. The event is not an official collaboration, however, with the BBC actually creating the content alone by using Fortnite as a mere platform. The experience looks very extensive, with multiple different areas to fight through and objectives to accomplish, so perhaps this creation will pave the way for an official crossover in the future.

With gameplay set on a new continent and voiceover from iconic Doctor Who stars, Fallout: London may be the most ambitious Fallout 4 DLC ever conceived. The fan-made expansion will put a fresh spin on the typical post-nuclear formula by abandoning American landmarks in favor of England's most recognizable city. Once Doctor Who stars Colin Baker and Sylvester McCoy wake them up, Fallout: London players are no doubt in for a wild ride.
