Cheating has always been an issue in gaming, but online multiplayer has allowed hackers to spoil the fun of far more players than was previously possible. Developers have taken a wide array of steps to prevent cheating, including rewarding those who find exploits with large cash sums.
While all games suffer from cheaters to some extent, Fall Guys has been particularly popular with hackers who use a range of exploits. These include increasing the running speed of the character so that they are far faster than everyone else and adding flying to bypass obstacles in the game's courses. Mediatonic has not been as successful at combating cheaters as many equally popular games yet, largely because of the small size of the studio, but the developer has promised to do what it can to fix the issue as quickly as possible. According to the company, this will involve identifying hackers quickly and removing them mid-game rather than at the end of a round.
