Fall Guys Season 4 is full of futuristic fun. Players will be dodging flying planets, jumping through anti-gravity fields, and triggering pinball-style bumpers. Of course, there is a brand new battle pass for players to level up, new cosmetics for players to flaunt, and new ways to earn Crowns. Lastly, the Fall Guys Season 4's most exciting new feature is Squads Mode, but more on that later.

Crowns are not easy to earn outside of the battle pass. Since launch, the only way players have been able to earn Crowns is by winning shows or leveling up the battle pass. While the battle pass is generous in awarding Crowns, winning shows is no easy task. This is where Crown Shards come into play. This guide will focus on how to earn more Crown Shards in Fall Guys Season 4 and how they turn into full Crowns.

Fall Guys Season 4: How to Earn More Crown Shards

Crown Shards Fall Guys Squads Show

Players must earn 60 Crown Shards to make a full Crown. They can keep track of their progress in the top right corner of the 'Show Selector' screen (see above image). Players can earn Crown Shards in one of two ways: winning Squads Shows or completing daily challenges. Winning a Squads Show will net players 20 Crown Shards. Daily Challenges vary upon difficulty. However, players can earn a good chunk upon completing them.

The best way to grind Crown Shards is to play Squads Mode with a group of friends. This increases the player's odds of winning to 1/4 if they can make it to the final round. Squads Mode is all or nothing. Squads either win as a team or lose as a team. However, only one squad member has to win for the full team to succeed in the final round.

We say playing Squads Mode is the best way because players will passively complete challenges simultaneously. They can effectively kill two birds with one Fall Guy. Of course, players should keep the daily challenges in the back of their heads and try to complete them if they can.

What is Squads Mode in Fall Guys?

In a nutshell, players will drop into Fall Guys shows as a team of four and accumulate points based on their finishing position in races. Only the top squads will advance to the next round. Even if one team member is eliminated, their team can still earn enough points to carry them to victory. They won't be forced to spectate their friends who are of a better skill level.

According to Joe Walsh, Mediatonic's lead game designer, Fall Guys can't be handing out 4x as many crowns in Squads Mode. This is why Squads has been limited to earning Crown Shards. In an interview with IGN, Joe Walsh goes into the finer details of Squads Mode while touching on Crown Shards in Fall Guys Season 4.

The future seems bright for Fall Guys as Mediatonic was just bought out by Epic Games, the masterminds behind Fortnite. Fans can also be on the lookout for Fall Guys releasing on Xbox and Nintendo Switch in the Summer of 2021.
