Fall Guys has received a quality fan makeover in the form of a Dark Souls crossover in a video, alluringly titled Prepare to Dive. While this is an unofficial take on the party game’s concept, the developer behind Fall Guys absolutely loves to introduce officially approved crossovers by adding themed cosmetics.

Fall Guys has already been treated to a few adorable costumes for beans including Half-Life and Portal 2-inspired skins. Interestingly, one of the recent leaks points at a possible crossover with The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077. It could’ve been an amazing surprise for players, but through datamining efforts, it has been exposed publicly. Mentioned in the files is a “Geralt Bathtime” costume, which is probably based on the popular scene from The Witcher 3.

YouTuber Sanadsk has recently shown what would happen if Fall Guys met Dark Souls in an unlikely, yet strangely enticing crossover called Prepare to Dive Edition. Unfortunately, this isn’t a playable game - instead, it’s just a fun project created on Unreal Engine 4 by a devoted fan of both titles. The name is an obvious pun based on the Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition and the core concept of Fall Guys, which sees the party game’s characters constantly falling to their death from above. Sanadsk used models of mushroom people as playable characters in the unlikely crossover, as these enemies from Dark Souls are the closest visual representation to what friendly beans from Fall Guys could look like in the game’s dark fantasy world. The video's creator went as far as showcasing cosmetic options for the shrooms with several types of heads - all taken from different Dark Souls bosses and characters.

Dark Souls’ disturbing aesthetics and dark fantasy setting used in Fall Guys: Prepare to Dive Edition perfectly coincides with the recent release of medieval-themed Season 2 in the popular party game. The seasonal update added a plethora of new cosmetics allowing players to become wizards, knights, and witches among other options. Apart from that, the anticipated content drop introduced several new game modes on brand new medieval-inspired arenas with a bunch of additional gameplay mechanics including occasional co-op activities.

Despite being a silly crossover between two seemingly different games, Fall Guys: Prepare to Dive Edition looks perfectly legit and enjoyable. That being said, Dark Souls and Fall Guys do have something in common, which is the unforgiving gameplay with dozens of unsuccessful attempts to win. Coincidentally, scoring a crown feels almost as satisfying as beating a boss, which ultimately brings two distinctively different gameplay concepts together.
