It looks like The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has resumed filming once again. The upcoming Marvel series will premiere on Disney+, Disney's newest streaming subscription project. The story focuses on the original Captain America's two close friends, Falcon and the Winter Soldier. More specifically, the two navigate a world where Steve Rogers no longer wears the costume, which means revelations and changes for both characters.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier was announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con, where Kevin Feige confirmed that it would premiere in fall of 2020. Although Bob Iger, Disney's CEO, later revealed that the release schedule for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had been moved up to August of this year, these plans fell apart due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Although The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had reportedly almost finished filming, the COVID-19 shutdown meant that the show had to come to a sudden halt. With that in mind, Disney has failed to say when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will resume filming or what its new release date will be.

After the long delay, Twitter user Stanrico Lawson may have found proof that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is back on track. Lawson posted a short, 23 second video where he shows how filming has resumed in Atlanta. The accompanying caption reads that "Marvel [is] back to filming in Atlantic Station," although it's worth noting that Lawson doesn't seem to have any official ties to Marvel. However, Atlanta Filming seemingly confirmed the Marvel production had resumed with a post on Instagram, though the image isn't new. You can catch Lawson's video and Atlanta Filming's post below:

While Lawson's video is shot from a distance and doesn't include close-ups of any of the cast or crew, the news still comes as a relief to Marvel fans. The fact that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has resumed filming means that the other shows and movies planned for Marvel's Phase 4 may be able to start moving forward as well. Of course, certain productions like Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Seven Rings have already resumed filming in Australia. In addition, other delayed Disney+ shows and films may now be on schedule once again. As such, perhaps this is the first step of a potential roll-out of new films and TV series for Disney - albeit, a few months late.

In addition to continuing the story of Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson, there's a lot riding on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. In particular, this is Sam Wilson's chance to shine, especially since he's now taken on the helm as the new Captain America. That being said, whatever comes next, fans will be eagerly awaiting new details about the show. If the show is back on track, it may not be long before The Falcon and the Winter Soldier premiere date is announced or a new trailer is released.
