A new Falcon and the Winter Soldier teaser trailer includes Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) quoting Captain America's price of freedom speech from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. After years of being a background character, Sam Wilson aka Falcon has a bright future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Avengers: Endgame concluded with him receiving the Captain America shield from Steve Rogers, and Marvel announced shortly thereafter the character would be starring in a Disney+ show with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan).

The last few months have been filled with exciting looks at The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Now over a year after the first footage debuted during the 2020 Super Bowl, the show received a bigger push at the most recent "Big Game" ahead of its March 2021 release date. With a full trailer and exclusive look already released, many fans started to wonder if Marvel would share any more The Falcon and the Winter Soldier footage. They've kept plot details about the series to a minimum so far, and that includes largely hiding the fact that John Walker (Wyatt Russell) will be Captain America instead of Sam.

Thanks to a new Falcon and the Winter Soldier trailer, Sam is starting to sound more like Captain America than ever before. The 30-second teaser features a few brief never-before-seen moments of footage, but Sam provides a voiceover for the majority of it. It is in this voiceover that Sam repeats Steve Rogers' speech from Captain America: The Winter Soldier that the price of freedom is high and one he's willing to pay.

Sam's use of Captain America's freedom quote is particularly interesting, considering Steve used it before dismantling SHIELD due to the Hydra takeover. It is unclear what brings him to repeat this line or who he is saying it to based on the trailer. Perhaps this comes after Sam has regained the Captain America mantle and accepted the significance of his new role. The audio sounds like Sam's voice is playing through a speaker or intercom system, so he could be broadcasting this message to those who need to hear it.

As far as new footage in this The Falcon and The Winter Soldier trailer goes, there are only a few new shots worth mentioning. One shows Sam and Bucky walking away from each other at the house location Sam has been shown practicing his shield throwing. The shot that will catch the eyes of fans is what appears to be a new moment with John Walker's Captain America. He's shown on his knees, holding his head, and with a charred/burned shield. John Walker has dealt with some instabilities in the past, so could he be starting to crack under pressure or as a result of going a step too far? The answer will likely only come once The Falcon and The Winter Soldier debuts, but this is so far one of a few shots featuring the new Cap. Now we'll have to wait and see if Walker tries to reuse any of Steve's quotes too.
