Merchandise for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has slyly revealed what Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) has been up to since Captain America: Civil War. In another world, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier would've been the first Marvel series to debut on Disney+, and it would've completed its run by now. The series was initially scheduled for August of this year, but production disruptions caused by the coronavirus pandemic forced Marvel to delay it. As of right now, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has yet to receive a new premiere date, but it will presumably arrive sometime after WandaVision completes its season in early 2021.

Much of the buzz around The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has been centered on the titular duo of Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), but they won't be the only MCU characters appearing. VanCamp's SHIELD agent Sharon Carter was first introduced in Captain America: The Winter Soldier as a new ally and love interest for Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), and she continued to play those roles in Civil War. Little is known about what happened to her beyond that film, save that she was one of the victim's of Thanos' (Josh Brolin) Snap and will aid Sam and Bucky in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

In lieu of the actual series, fans have been left to pick up clues about The Falcon and the Winter Soldier from its promotional materials. This latest detail comes from the show's merchandise (via BRMarvelNews), which reveals something major about Sharon: She's currently wanted by the United States government. What appears to be a sticker shows Sharon wearing a hoodie with the word "Wanted" emblazoned across her face. Check it out down below.

Sharon was working for the CIA in Civil War when she broke the rules to help Steve, Bucky, and Sam escape with their weapons. Though the movie never revealed whether she got caught, it's clear now that she did and that she had go on the run. How this will impact Sharon's Falcon and the Winter Soldier story remains to be seen, but it'll be quite interesting to see how she comes back into contact with Sam and Bucky.

The hope is that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier can redeem Sharon's character, which has been sorely lacking within the MCU. For the most part, she's been relegated to the part of love interest, and many find her romance with Steve to be rather awkward, seeing as he's always held a torch for her aunt Peggy (Hayley Atwell). Provided The Falcon and the Winter Soldier doesn't try to pair Sharon with either Bucky or Sam, the series can develop her character in new ways. Now that she's a fugitive, there are several interesting avenues that can be explored with Sharon, and hopefully it'll give her the story she deserves.
