The cast of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is growing, with Emily VanCamp reprising her role as Sharon Carter and Wyatt Russell cast as John Walker, otherwise known as US Agent. After a decade of dominating the big screen, Marvel Studios is expanding its reach to the small screen. The record-setting studio is producing several original series for Disney's streaming service, Disney+, that will take place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be the first series out of the gate when it launches in 2020 and will see Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan star in their respective MCU roles. It was previously reported that Daniel Brühl would return as Helmet Zemo, which has since been confirmed. Zemo will even wear his purple mask in the series for the first time. Now, we know that more characters will be joining this already incredible roster.

Announced at the Disney+ panel at D23, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige confirmed that Emily VanCamp will appear in the series as well. She will reprise her MCU role as Sharon Carter, marking her first appearance since Captain America: Civil War. In addition to her return, Wyatt Russell has been cast John Walker aka US Agent.

With the return of Emily VanCamp, Falcon and The Winter Soldier will be bringing together almost all of the important people from Captain America's life who are still around. We haven't seen Sharon Carter since she helped Cap and Falcon get their gear back, though, so this series could answer that question. Considering that Baron Zemo will likely be the main villain of the series, she may assist Falcon and Winter Soldier in tracking him down.

As for the addition of Wyatt Russell, though, he will be following in his father's footsteps in joining the MCU; Kurt Russell previously played Ego in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. He recently appeared in Overlord and Lodge 49 and could take on an important role within the plot as US Agent. Previously reported plot details for Falcon and The Winter Soldier teased that the government may not be happy with Falcon taking over as Captain America, so this could be where US Agent comes into play.

The involvement of US Agent could indicate that the government has taken this into their own hands and created another super-soldier. This could make him somewhat of an antagonist for Falcon, as Walker could consistently challenge his position. Since Walker has also taken on the Captain America mantle in the past, the attempt to claim the mantle as his own would be an additional challenge for Falcon to overcome. With production on The Falcon and The Winter Soldier gearing up, it hopefully won't be long before more details are revealed.
