Captain America: The Winter Soldier's gag character returns for a new The Falcon and the Winter Soldier promotional video. Following WandaVision, Marvel Studios' next Disney+ project is taking on a different approach with a more grounded story that reminiscent of Joe and Anthony Russo's first film in the MCU. That said, it appears that the tone isn't the only thing that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is taking from the beloved 2014 movie proved by its latest marketing clip.

After months of delays, Marvel Studios isn't wasting time getting the ball rolling on Phase 4; just two weeks after WandaVision wrapped, they're set to release their next Disney+ offering in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Albeit shorter with only six confirmed episodes, the project has a big potential to be another hit for the MCU as seen in the trailers. Aside from Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, it will also see the return of Sharon Carter/Agent 13 and Baron Zemo from Captain America: Civil War, as well as, War Machine. Meanwhile, John Walker will debut in the franchise through the show.

With its release mere days away, Marvel Studios' marketing machine is in high gear to keep the buzz going into its premiere. The latest marketing material for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, however, is a bit unusual as it's a cross-promo with Xbox. In the clip, Sam recaps everything he's been through in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to the same Apple employee that Captain America and Black Widow encountered in The Winter Soldier named Aaron played by D.C. Pierson. Watch the hilarious video below:

While it's uncertain, chances are that this particular promo video for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is not considered canon, but it's still fun to ponder on possibilities if it is. After The Winter Soldier, this is the first time Pierson is returning to the MCU as Aaron although there have been obviously big changes in his life since his last appearance — that includes changing employers. Based on his conversation with Sam, he wasn't part of the unfortunate half who was blipped by Thanos' snap.

Aside from this obvious joke casting — something that Marvel Studios tend to do now with Evan Peter's fake Pietro in WandaVision — it's an indication of just how much The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be pulling from Captain America: The Winter Soldier. This makes sense considering that both Sam and Bucky are grounded characters. Additionally, the Russos' movie is known for its political thriller vibe which also fits with the upcoming Disney+ series as it deals with government intervention's about Sam becoming the next Captain America in the MCU.
