A The Falcon and The Winter Soldier tie-in toy may have revealed Sam Wilson's Captain America suit. With Steve Rogers officially retired from his duty as Captain America at the end of Avengers: Endgame, he took it upon himself to pick his successor which happens to be Sam Wilson. He teams up with Bucky Barnes in a new adventure that will also feature familiar MCU faces in Agent 13, Baron Zemo, and Batroc.

Originally set to be Marvel Studios' inaugural Disney+ series, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now pushed to an unknown date due to the coronavirus pandemic. Filming supposedly continues overseas with various set images and videos emerging online from the production's location in Prague. WandaVision is expected to take over as the sitcom-inspired show is said to debut in December. And while it's still uncertain when The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will premiere, rampant rumors suggest that it would hit the streaming platform this January. Assuming that this is the case, it makes sense that Disney and Marvel are working on tie-in merchandise for the show as early as now.

An image of a supposed prototype of Sam Wilson's Captain America action figure for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier has made its way online. Shared on Reddit by user u/potablog, the source says that he deals in these kinds of prototypes and came across this. The toy isn't fully finished with the head still lacking paint, but it gives a good idea of what Sam could look like once he assumes his rightful mantle as the next Star-Spangled Avenger. The chest piece appears to be embossed with the classic Captain America star with horizontal lines running on both sides; the upper half of blue in color, while the pants are solid red. Check out the image below:

Since this is a prototype as the source said, it's best to take it with a healthy dose of salt. While film and TV series details have been spoiled before via tie-in merchandise, they aren't always reliable. If anything, Marvel Studios could've made some last-minute changes resulting in a significantly different appearance for Sam's Captain America in The Falcon & The Winter Soldier and the toy manufacturers weren't given enough time to change their design. There's also the possibility that this piece might not even be fully released for various reasons. Nevertheless, images like this are still a great way to keep the conversation going for high-profile projects like The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

Assuming that this turns out to be the Captain America suit that Sam will wear on the Disney+ show, there are certain interesting elements that can be seen in this action figure. Firstly, while this prototype still lacks facial details, it appears as if he will be sporting a mask/flying goggles as he does in the comics, albeit sleeker in design. The straps on his shoulders will more likely be for his wings and resemble the ones that his Falcon costume has for The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. It's curious, however, if the sleeves of the armor still need paint, or it will be left like that to have his red gloves pop out more. In any case, as the series' supposed release nears, the public can expect more merchandise that could provide more details about the project.
