A new TV spot for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's upcoming finale shows Sam Wilson in his winged Captain America suit. After giving up the shield in the series' first episode, Sam has toyed with what it means to be Captain America through Falcon and the Winter Soldier's run. When the US government picked John Walker as Steve Rogers' successor, Sam's feelings only became more complicated. The choice became clear, though, when Walker murdered Flag-Smasher Nico in cold blood, using the shield in a fit of rage.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's penultimate episode began with the confrontation fans had been waiting for, with Bucky and Sam stealing the shield back from John Walker immediately after his violent act. Despite being in possession of the shield, though, Sam wrestled with his complicated feelings surrounding the shield's legacy and what it would mean for a Black man to take on the mantle. He sought out advice from Isaiah Bradley in hopes of coming to a definitive conclusion.

Sam looks to have finally made a decision by the end of episode five, opening up the box presented to him by Bucky. A new TV spot (via AmazingAwesome NWA) for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's finale shows what might have been in that box, with Sam once again taking flight in a new suit after John Walker ripped the wings off his Falcon suit. The clip briefly summarizes the past five episodes before ending on several shots from the upcoming finale that will see Sam head to New York to stop the Flag-Smashers' attack on the GRC. Check out the full spot below:

Sam's evolution into Captain America has been alluded to in the series and an action figure already previewed what he would like in his hybrid Captain America-Falcon suit. Despite this look at the toy, though, fans have yet to see the new suit in action and that may be one of the most anticipated aspects of the upcoming finale. As a gift from Wakanda, the suit should have some pretty incredible abilities and those are briefly glimpsed in the above spot.

How that suit will shake out against the various enemies Sam will face off against in the finale remains to be seen, though. In addition to stopping the Flag Smashers, Sam will have to contend with John Walker and his new shield and a reemerging Batroc. How Sharon Carter will factor into the final episode remains to be seen, but if the theories are true, she may emerge as the MCU's Power Broker. The only missing puzzle piece is Bucky. How he'll make his appearance in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's finale is a mystery, but he surely won't leave Sam hanging, giving the series one more opportunity to bring the titular pair together again.
