Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier TV show starts filming, as announced in a video of stars Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie bickering. As revealed when Marvel Studios unveiled their Phase 4 release slate at San Diego Comic-Con, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will be the first of their Disney+ original series, hitting the streaming service in Fall 2020. For the show, Stan reprises his role as Bucky Barnes aka. the Winter Soldier and Mackie as Sam Wilson aka. Falcon.

Of course, Falcon's role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is expanding after Avengers: Endgame, with Captain America (Chris Evans) passing his shield on to Sam. Though Mackie said he'll always be Falcon in the MCU, his character being tasked with keeping the legacy of Captain America alive will no doubt be addressed in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Though plot details have been kept under wraps, reports have indicated there may be some pushback to Falcon becoming Captain America. Now, both Mackie and Stan were front and center of the announcement that the Disney+ series has started filming.

On the Marvel Studios Instagram story, Mackie and Stan both posted that they were doing a takeover, though it seemed they hadn't been informed the other was also doing a takeover. In the end, the co-stars get together to announce The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has officially started production and there's plenty of bickering. Mackie also shared a photo from the set via Twitter. Check them out below.

In addition to Mackie and Stan, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will star Baron Zemo actor Daniel Brühl, who originated the MCU role in Captain America: Civil War. Since Brühl never fully became Baron Zemo - and fans felt he was an underused villain - the upcoming TV series will give Marvel a chance to feature the antagonist, and in his comics accurate costume no less. Still Falcon and Winter Soldier will be the heart of the show, and the comedic chemistry between Stan and Mackie is on full display in this announcement video. The duo played off each other a bit in Civil War, and their brief exchange in the car while Steve is otherwise occupied with Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) is still a favorite moment among fans.

Marvel's Falcon and the Winter Soldier cast will also include VanCamp, who's returning as Sharon Carter, which will hopefully allow the character to shine outside of the shadow of Steve Rogers. It's unclear how exactly she'll factor into the dynamic of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, if she'll be a close ally to the superhero duo or if she'll have a smaller part to play. Given she helped Captain America and his friends in Civil War, she'll likely jump at the chance to face Baron Zemo once again. But what Zemo did to get back on the heroes' radar and how they take him down all remains to be seen.

Now that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has officially begun production, hopefully we'll learn more about what to expect. There's plenty of pressure on the show as the very first live-action series produced by Marvel Studios, not to mention Disney+'s first MCU TV show. But considering Marvel's track record with their films, fans have plenty to be confident about in the Captain America spinoff. As seen in the announcement video, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier stars Mackie and Stan have proven they can be super entertaining together - and that's sure to translate to the TV show.
