The Falcon and the Winter Soldier debuted a new set of wings for Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, which augmented his power level. Decorated with the red, white, and blue, this new wingsuit was built using Wakandan technology and is presumed to contain vibranium components; this appears to have made significant improvements over the power and striking force of Wilson's pararescue outfit. With this improved outfit and the iconic Captain America shield, Wilson was able to perform feats that he couldn't have before. While certainly not invulnerable, these improved wings offer Captain America additional options.

Wilson's original wings were able to form a shield that offered him protection from small arms fire; although lightweight and aerodynamic, they were also resilient enough to protect him, instead of needing protection themselves. The new wings are part of an armored outfit, making it different from Steve Roger's Captain America suit; Sam's previous wings had vulnerabilities at the joints, including at the harness, which this helps to resolve. Since force equals mass times acceleration, the improved striking force of these lighter wings comes from their increased speed, which also helps to protect Captain America.

The new Captain America wings are lighter and thinner; they can work better underwater due to finer articulation, and what appears to be an enhanced jet propulsion. They also make for a more potent weapon; a strike from the fine edge of the wings allows Wilson to embed them in concrete from a standing position. While the grade of concrete isn't specified in the episode, even low-end concrete would require thousands of pounds per square inch of pressure to accomplish this feat, suggesting enhanced durability to the wings and mechanisms behind the strike. The original Falcon wings were broken by exploiting a vulnerability at the joints; similar vulnerability still exists, but would be harder to take advantage of.

Another advantage offered by the new design of the wings is the distribution of force; Wilson can use his jets for more than just incidental strikes because of vibranium's shock-absorbing qualities. Previously, using sustained thrust from the wings' jets to push a heavy object would put considerable pressure on the inhabitant of the suit, or vulnerable components of the suit. Designed to minimize wind resistance, the original wings weren't built to withstand crushing force. With the vibranium components helping to distribute the force of blows or shoves, Wilson can use more force without worrying about crushing the wings. Just as Bucky's arm allows him to use his full strength, Wilson's new outfit allows him to take full advantage of the strength of the wings.

These are just the examples of power that were immediately apparent in the short scenes in which Captain America was wearing the upgraded suit. It is possible that there are still further advantages or tools that Wilson either hasn't yet explored, or didn't feel confident enough with to use to full advantage. He trained for some time to be comfortable using the shield, but didn't open the suit box until just before he went to join the battle for New York. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier has given Captain America a potent tool in his fight to do right by the legacy of his newly adopted mantle; the full powers the wings grant is yet to be determined.
