Marvel's The Falcon and the Winter Soldier concept art reveals Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes' (Sebastian Stan) Captain America costumes. In addition to Steve Rogers' (Chris Evans) closest allies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will feature the return of Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Helmut Zemo (Daniel Brühl) for the first time since Captain America: Civil War. Plus, at D23 this summer, Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige confirmed the introduction of a new Marvel Comics character in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier: John Walker aka. US Agent, played by Wyatt Russell.

The upcoming Captain America spinoff series will be Marvel Studios' very first television show, with Feige confirming at San Diego Comic-Con 2019 that it will release in Spring 2020 on Disney+. It marks the first Disney+ series Marvel Studios is doing as part of the larger MCU, but it's far from the last, with WandaVision, Loki, Hawkeye, Ms. Marvel, Moon Knight and She-Hulk live-action series announced and an animated What If...? show also planned. At the launch of Disney+, Marvel released Expanding the Universe, a new special that offers concept art and information about all of their upcoming series.

Included in Disney+ and Marvel's Expanding the Universe special is a first look at The Falcon and the Winter Soldier concept art revealing new Captain America-inspired costumes for both Mackie's Sam Wilson and Stan's Bucky Barnes. Additional concept art features Sharon Carter suited up in tactical gear, while another piece of art showcases US Agent in a costume reminiscent of Captain America's. Check out the art below.

Mackie's new costume more resembles that of the Falcon in the Marvel Comics than the one Sam Wilson wears when he's Captain America, however that may be part of the character's journey in the Disney+ series. Although Steve Rogers officially passed the Captain America shield onto Sam Wilson at the end of Avengers: Endgame, it will presumably take some time for both Sam and those around him to get used to the idea of him donning that mantle. Plus, rumors have indicated that in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the U.S. government doesn't want Sam Wilson to be Captain America, which seems to be confirmed by the inclusion of US Agent. Perhaps by the end of the series, Sam Wilson will get another costume, one more in line with the character's Captain America suit from the comics.

In the series, Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also face off against Baron Zemo, with Brühl returning to the role following his supporting part in Civil War. Marvel's Disney+ series will be able to fully explore the villain, and will feature Baron Zemo's comics accurate look, as revealed by Brühl himself over the summer. In addition to those images, this new concept art reveals what fans can expect from the updated costumes for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier's returning characters as well as new character US Agent.

Altogether, it's sure to get fans hyped for Marvel's first Disney+ series ahead of the show launching next spring. Hopefully fans won't have to wait that long to get their first looks at the actors in costume. With The Falcon and the Winter Soldier filming now, Marvel may reveal official images of Mackie and Stan in costume soon enough.
