Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series The Falcon and the Winter Soldier only has nine days of filming left. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is currently slated to be the first Marvel series to premiere on Disney+ later this year. It will follow Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) in the aftermath of Avengers: Endgame as Sam adjusts to (and fights for) the position of Captain America. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will also see the returns of Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) and Baron Zemo (Daniel Brühl), and while most plot specifics aren't clear just yet, it is certain that Sam and Bucky still aren't friends. As of right now, the series is scheduled for an August release, though many wonder if that will change.

Back in March, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier halted production in Prague due to the coronavirus pandemic. As the shutdown continued into April and May, it seemed like a release delay could be in the cards. Mackie recently said they had almost finished production before the shutdown disrupted things. Plus, the news that the Czech Republic is opening back up for film and television productions gave some hope that The Falcon and the Winter Soldier could resume soon. There was brief concern that the EU's travel ban would present yet another obstacle, but that will not be the case.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier hasn't quite resumed filming just yet, but when they finally do, they really won't have many days left. According to THR, the series is currently prepping for a nine-day shoot in the Czech Republic this fall. This is the first time a concrete amount of time has been revealed, as before Mackie had just said they have "very little stuff to do."

The mention of a fall shoot might give some pause, seeing as The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is supposed to start rolling out in August. Disney has yet to announce an official delay, so for all intents and purposes, that date is sticking for the time being. This could either mean that Disney will be revealing a delay soon, or that they're confident they can still complete the work in time somehow. Nine days isn't that much time, so The Falcon and the Winter Soldier might still debut at around its planned date.

Anticipation is high for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, especially since Mackie recently touted it as essentially a six-hour Marvel movie. The production delay has certainly been a major setback, but fans are looking forward to the day when Marvel will finally reveal something new, like a concrete release date or a trailer. Those still might be a little ways away, but it hopefully won't be much longer. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is close to starting again, and that's a huge relief.
